MAINTENANCE
Job Description
Maintenance positions are responsible for maintaining all campus facilities, including, but not limited to, building, installation, repair, and maintenance of campus buildings, facilities, and equipment. They also sweep sidewalks and remove snow as required, assist in other facilities departments as needed, and perform other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Work involving the skills of multiple maintenance or craft occupations to perform and assist other maintenance technicians, college employees, and contractors in performing the following actions:
Uphold the institution's guiding principles, including the mission statement and the five core values of Integrity, Hospitality, Community, Servant Leadership, and Sustainability.
General Maintenance
Grounds-All aspects of grounds maintenance, including, but not limited to, the maintenance and repair of structures, fountains, and irrigation systems.
Custodial
Scheduled and emergency on-call services for nights and weekends in all abovementioned skills.
Provide help as assigned and as necessary with weather-related responses such as damage repair or clean-up of wind, flooding, snow removal, etc. Carpentry/Locks

Job Requirements
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Order and maintain, per prescribed procedures, all supplies necessary to accomplish jobs and also assure used and/or defective items are properly disposed of.
Learn and use the computerized on-line Campus Facilities maintenance management system to compose and access work orders. Fill out and submit completed work orders in a timely manner.
Adhere to all safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
Strive to be in compliance with all OSHA and EPA regulations.
Participate in team meetings, providing input and suggestions.
Provide continual evaluation of processes and procedures. Responsible for suggesting methods to improve area operations, efficiency and service to both internal and external customers.
Work in collaboration and cooperation within the Campus Facilities department and with other departments and academic divisions on campus, using timely and appropriate judgment in upward communication regarding department concerns and responsibilities
Regular and satisfactory attendance and punctuality.
Perform all other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to four years related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Must be able to use all tools of the listed trades.
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
Must be a team player and maintain a good working relationship with students, staff, and faculty.
Must be able to communicate effectively to various audiences, including students, parents, faculty, staff, alumni, administration, and the community at large.
Must be able to handle multiple projects/assignments concurrently and be very results-oriented.
Must be highly motivated and work well independently and in a team environment.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Knowledge of basic electrical repair and installation
Knowledge of plumbing repairs and installation
Knowledge of HVAC systems and repairs
