Minimum Qualifications Two years of full-time experience in maintenance or mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled tradesperson; OR
Completion of an appropriate two-year technical school course at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services, such as the New York State Civil Service Employees Association-Partnership (NYS CSEA-P) Applied Skilled Trades Certificate Program*; OR
An equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of appropriate technical courses at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services.
Duties Description Under the direction of the Physical Plant Manager or another supervisor within the Maintenance Complex, the selected candidate will perform semi-skilled duties associated with the maintenance and repair of park buildings, utility systems and park grounds. Duties may include:
Assist supervisors with coordinating activities and scheduling of work to be performed to ensure the effective utilization of staff, materials, and equipment; and to ensure the timely completion of projects.
Provide written progress/work reports.
Assist supervisors with tracking attendance and evaluating performance of seasonal staff in the absence of a supervisor.
Operate various power tools and heavy equipment such as front-end loaders, bobcats, tractors, and dump trucks.
Assist with housekeeping and groundskeeping functions, as needed.
Assist in other areas of the park, as needed, and perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Comments OPERATING NEEDS:
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.
This position is 40 hours per week. Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
Must be well organized and proficient in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Must possess effective communication skills.

May be required to report to other facilities within the NYC region on an as-needed basis.
DOWNSTATE ADJUSTMENT: $3,400
