Maintenance Assistant

Under direct supervision, provides routine maintenance and repairs to the facility, equipment and grounds.

Education:

High school diploma required.

Technical training degree or experience preferred.

Experience:

Minor electrical, mechanical and plumbing repairs and general maintenance

Skills:

Communication, trouble shootings and problem-solving skills required

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responds to maintenance service calls. Performs routine maintenance and repairs to facility and equipment; i.e., replaces light bulbs, repairs plumbing, hangs shelves/bulletin boards, paints, etc.

• Installs, repairs and maintains mechanical equipment/systems. Replaces, repairs and maintains minor electrical systems/equipment.

• Performs assigned tasks during emergency situations (medical, snow storms, electrical outages, etc.).

• Inventories and stocks areas with medical, office, linen supplies. Ensures par levels are maintained.

• Checks stock items for expiration dates to ensure supplies are within date range.
