Primary Responsibility:

Under close supervision, develop the skill sets and experience to perform routine general maintenance and repair throughout the warehouse. Maintenance includes electricity, plumbing, lift truck, refrigeration, ammonia, and carpentry. This is an entry level position for a highly motivated, hard-working, person with a desire to grow their career in the maintenance field.

Essential Functions:

  • Observes, learns, and assists with basic repairs, adjustment of doors, dock levelers, pallet racks, sweepers, sprinkler systems, forklifts, pallet trucks, and electrical work in accordance with OSHA Standards

  • Attends and participates in all assigned training as directed

  • Cleans, changes, and lubricates bearings, gears, and other machinery parts using rags, brushes, and grease gun

  • Maintains tools, machinery, shop areas and keeps them in clean/operational condition

  • Utilizes tools and equipment carefully as instructed

  • Maintains batteries and chargers in working order in accordance with OSHA Standard

  • Conducts tests of safety equipment (Exit signs, fire extinguishers, sprinkler systems, etc.) to ensure OHSA and operational standards

  • Maintains accurate preventive maintenance records

  • Assists answering security alarm calls as needed

  • Keeps work area 6S'd (clean, organized, etc.), and performs housekeeping duties as required

  • Performs related work and other job assignments as required

  • Actively learns to use tools and diagnostic equipment to perform basic maintenance functions


Qualifications & Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required

  • Basic mechanical knowledge and aptitude required

  • Mathematical and documentation skills necessary

  • Basic computer skills required (email, internet searches, basic data entry, etc.)

  • May be expected to participate in HAZMAT responder training

  • Vocational/technical certification and/or training preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrate willingness to learn and ability to comprehend the qualifications to move to a Tech 1 position within 2 years

  • Prior maintenance or mechanical experience preferred

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Mathematical and documentation skills necessary

  • Ability to work with hands in mechanically oriented situations

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

  • Must be able to work flexible shifts, if required, including on call

Physical Requirements:

  • May be required to tolerate working environment with inside controlled temperatures of 15 degrees Fahrenheit and outside ambient temperatures (including heat, cold and precipitation)

  • Must tolerate heights up to 35 ft. and be able to access elevated platforms and catwalks

  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs

  • Frequently required to stand; walk; push; pull; reach with hands and arms; stoop; kneel; and crouch

  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

  • Must be able to use hand and power tools

  • Must be able to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, and/or manipulate parts & tools

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and depth perception. Either naturally or with the aid of eye glasses

  • Able to work nights and weekends

  • Able to pass a physical and respiratory exam

Under supervision, this position cuts meat to specifications for variety, size, quality and trim. Primary Responsibilities & Accountabilities * Provide continuous attention to customer needs; greet, assist and thank customers in a prompt, courteous and friendly manner. * Responsible for learingin meat cutter skills and responsibilities as directed by the Meat Cutter or Department Manager including: * Prepare and package food products and process customer orders to their specifications; process fresh meats, smoked meats, seafood, random weight, lunchmeat, frozen food and salted meats to production standards. * Receive and breakdown meat deliveries. * Utilize peak time performance cutting lists to cut and trim all products as directed by company standards. * Properly wrap, weigh and price product as needed. * Properly cube, slice and grind meat as needed. * Observe local, state and government weights and measure laws, sanitation standards, grinding logs and Country of Origin Labeling. * Observe safety standards while working with power equipment * Offer product suggestions when appropriate. * Stock and rotate department products to ensure freshness and date control; restock and use supply items efficiently to eliminate waste and to maintain the lowest supply cost. * Operate department equipment and tools. * Keep work area clean, orderly and free from safety hazards; report faulty equipment and hazards to management. * Notify management of team member theft, customer shoplifting, unauthorized mark-downs, property defacement or any action that is illegal and/or against company policy. * Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
