The Maintenance Worker reports to the Program Director. The mission of the Maintenance Worker is to perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, landscaping, general outside upkeep and other building systems, while modeling safe and trusting relationships. The Maintenance Worker will ensure that campus is always safe and beautiful.

Pay: $21 - $28 per hour (DOE)

Location: 7809 Schelhorn Rd, Alexandria, VA 22306

40 Hours per week

Responsibilities

• Oversee the maintenance landscaping.

• Complete tasks as needed on the grounds such as weeding, irrigation, etc.

• Use chemicals to maintain lawns.

• Punctuality is essential.

• Carpentry, electrical, drywall and painting as needed.

• Small appliance repair.

• Oversee the maintenance of the campus vehicles.

• Snow removal.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Proof of High School Diploma or GED

• 21 years age or older

• Able to pass state and federal background check, tb test and drug screening

• Active driver's license and ability to pass motor vehicle record check.

• Landscaping, maintenance, and cleaning experience preferred

• Knowledge of basic yard equipment including: Lawn mower, edger, and trimmer.

• Knowledge of basic preventative maintenance and repair.

• Skill in problem solving.

• Ability to work safely with cleaning chemicals and with chemicals used on the grounds.

• Ability to complete tasks and projects without supervisor or co-workers present.
