Overview

The maintenance administrator is responsible for diagnosing mechanical problems and identifying methods in order to minimize down time. Responsible for ordering supplies and equipment needed to perform maintenance checks associated with the preventive maintenance program.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to type, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms, including reaching overhead; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move 26 to 47 pounds.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 52 pounds.

The employee may occasionally lift and/or move 53 to 99 pounds assisted by power equipment and/or other employees through team lifting.

Responsibilities

Regular physical attendance is essential for the performance of the job.

Responsible for the preventive maintenance program to include daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inspections. Assist as needed to ensure all inspections are completed as scheduled.

Provide preventive maintenance forecasts and works with the Maintenance Manager and VP of Logistics regarding potential purchases and annual department budget.

Organize, update, and maintain maintenance metrics and distribute as requested related to work orders.

Interact with various vendors regarding pricing and troubleshooting mechanical problems.

Enter invoices and maintain expenses and invoice tracking using excel or the Warehouse Control System (LEI).

Track, analyze, and forecast materials and part expenses for maintenance invoices.

Routinely communicate effectively and efficiently with management and non-management regarding facility and equipment operations.

Utilize safe work practices when making adjustment, repairs, or mechanical changes and utilize the lock out/tag out program when applicable.

Ability to install, maintain, and troubleshoot related logic, ladder diagrams, control components such as photo eyes, moto starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, Servo drives, frequency inverters, liner drives, tachs, and encoders.

Working knowledge of computers for industrial controls (PLC, ControlLogix) and able to read PLC code for troubleshooting problems and components (CPU back plains, I/O boards, counters, modules, and devices) and communication modules (Ethernet).

Use test equipment (digital multi- meters, oscilloscopes, etc.) to trouble shoot circuits down to the component level.

Must have an understanding of analog and electronics, three phase electricity, and motors.

Develop good working relationships across all levels of distribution center and promote good housekeeping practices.

Protect the company's assets and financial information by ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures, and informing appropriate officials of potential fraud risk.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's or Technical degree preferred; four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.). Prefer experience with Warehouse Control Systems (LEI) and programmable logic controller (PLC).

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
