What You'll Do

  • Manage various office tasks to support the department to ensure smooth, well-organized day-to-day operations

  • Assist in scheduling and organizing various new hire activities and departmental events

  • Handle incoming and outgoing departmental correspondence, including emails, letters, and packages

  • Maintain and update databases and filing systems to include basic data entry

  • Assist in processing invoices, departmental reports, and other documents

  • Review Maintenance work orders and settlements within our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

  • Organize and maintain physical and electronic files and records

  • Maintain office supply inventory by checking stock and ordering items as needed

  • Assist in special projects to include basic data analysis and tasks as assigned by management

  • Answer and direct the Steel Texas main line phone calls in a professional manner

  • Maintain sensitive and confidential information to ensure it is handled securely and in compliance with CMC policies and procedures

What You'll Need

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years experience as an administrative assistant or in a similar role in an office setting

  • CMMS knowledge required

  • Valid driver's license with current motor vehicle insurance and a clean driving record

  • Proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)

  • Advanced MS Excel skills a plus

  • SAP experience a plus

  • Works with little supervision with ability to use critical thinking skills and utilize own judgment in making decisions

  • Strong scheduling, planning, organizing, problem solving, time managing, and prioritizing work skills

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively

Your Education

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required
