General Maintenance is a vital role in the daily operations of our facility. There are a variety of roles and responsibilities within this title. The types of roles available require troubleshooting, ensuring proper maintenance and operational status of equipment utilizing preventative and predictive maintenance strategies, using a variety of hand tools to set up, break down, adjust production line machinery, and performing other duties pertaining to hydraulics and pneumatics, all while making safety the number one priority. Maintenance requires being able to read manuals written in English and the ability to write and document information.

While performing the duties of General Maintenance, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions with slippery surfaces; moving mechanical parts; fast paced warm/cool environment. Positions require standing the entire shift and the use of PPE is required in all areas of the facility.

Principal Accountabilities

Perform repetitive tasks. Examples include:

  • Using hand tools to perform maintenance on production machinery

  • Ensuring food safety and quality

  • Cleanliness and housekeeping

  • Responding to radio calls from other departments (production, food safety, safety, etc) for maintenance related actions

  • Effectively Communicating with other departments and other maintenance shifts to ensure proper pass down of maintenance related issues to the next shift in a positive manor

  • Documenting daily work assigned on paper and also in the maintenance management system) SAP

Required Qualifications

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship

  • Must be 18 years or older

  • Ability to perform basic math such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English

  • Basic computer skills

  • Basic knowledge of hand-tools

  • Ability to use a powered industrial truck (PIT) or eligible to acquire license and maintain the license

  • Ability to operate a forklift and other motorized equipment

  • Must supply their own tools.

  • Be able to work shifts and weekend overtime as required.

  • Previous production experience

  • Meat processing experience

  • Previous maintenance experience

  • Previous Cargill experience

  • Work history in the past 12 months

Responsibilities * Consistently and courteously greet and thank each customer and provide fast and friendly customer service. * Promote sales through use of suggestive selling techniques as instructed by store manager. * Conduct efficient and accurate sales transactions; notify store manager of any sales, cash or operating discrepancies; generate accurate and legible shift reports. * Handle complaints courteously and efficiently according to company policy. * Maintain a clean environment, using company guidelines. Job Requirements * High School graduate or equivalent preferred. * One to three years of management experience preferred * Valid driver's license * Ability to stand 100% of the time during work shift. * Ability to perform mathematical calculations to make change, complete shift reports and account for numbers of products during vendor check in. * Ability to accurately and quickly operate specific cash register in assigned store. * Ability to take deposits to the bank and perform price surveys. * Lift, reach, stoop and or bend to retrieve products and supplies from shelves, under counters or stacks of inventory weighing up to 50lbs. * Push a broom, and/or mop when cleaning. Must also be able to reach, bend, scrub, etc. when performing cleaning duties. * Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the English language to communicate with customers, coworkers, and supervisors. * Climb step ladder for cleaning purposes and for retrieving items. * No felony convictions to comply with Lottery sales regulations. * Ability to work any shift, weekends and/or holidays as needed. * Must be able to withstand temperatures as low as 31 degrees Fahrenheit for periods of time up to an hour, for purposes of stocking the cooler and temperatures as low as 0 degrees for a period of up to 10 minutes when stocking the freezer.
