Job Summary: Perform a variety of maintenance and repair activities which may involve mechanical, structural or rotating equipment support in a large pulp and paper mill.

Seeking a minimum of 5 years' experience with welding, bearing installation, alignment & rigging; preferably in a manufacturing environment. Perform preventative maintenance inspections, field assembly and repair mill equipment, and in-shop rebuilds of rotating assemblies. Experience with lathes, drill presses, milling machines a plus.

Use a variety of both small and large hand and power tools, overhead cranes, hoists, man-lifts, forklifts and related tools and moving equipment. Uses fall protection devices as needed. Pay rates as per union contract.

Responsibilities: The incumbent must demonstrate a basic level of skills in processes that may be outside of primary craft core competencies including: Performing scheduled and reactive corrective maintenance on production equipment Performing scheduled preventative and predictive maintenance on production equipment and facility assets Make new parts from prints, sketches or damaged parts Rebuild of rotating equipment Use CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System) to document job details Ability to work shift work or weekends as required Participate in meetings and training activities Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned Requirements: High School Diploma or GED Minimum 5 years Maintenance Mechanic/Millwright or Machinist Ability to plan and prioritize, develop work schedules and conduct basic machine care Ability to work in a mill or shop setting supervised or unsupervised Excellent attitude toward safety Able to perform tasks requiring heavy lifting, climbing, walking outdoors and indoors including extreme heat and cold weather conditions Preferred Qualifications: Journeyman Millwright or Journeyman Outside Machinist in an industrial/manufacturing environment If this sounds great to you and you think you fit in, please submit your application. Furthermore, they will be able to read and work from blueprints/schematics and perform tasks within budget hours.</p><p>Please note: this position is for SECOND shift only</p><p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p><p>Lathe</p><ul><li><p>Read &amp; work from blueprints/schematics and perform task within budget hours.</p></li><li><p>Properly perform tasks utilizing Fanuc and/or Okuma controls.</p></li><li><p>Select and prepare tooling and conduct first article inspections, and make required offset changes to complete set-ups.</p></li><li><p>Operate and set-up on conventional &amp; CNC Lathes to very close tolerances.</p></li><li><p>Must be able to dial in a four-jaw chuck.</p></li><li><p>Utilize experience in thread cutting (major, minor, pitch diameters) to perform assigned tasks.</p></li><li><p>Cut various types of threads including Acme, Square, Stub Acme, Lh and Rh standard threads, Class 2 &amp; Class 3, as required.</p></li><li><p>Perform other duties as assigned.</p></li></ul><p>Mill</p><ul><li><p>Read &amp; work from blueprints/schematics and perform task within budget hours.</p></li><li><p>Properly perform tasks using Fanuc and/or Vickers 2100 controls.</p></li><li><p>Select and prepare tooling, and conduct first article inspections, and make required offset changes to complete set-ups using knees, angle plates, parallels, etc.</p></li><li><p>Must be able to dial in 8&quot; vice &amp; turntable.</p></li><li><p>Perform set-ups on vertical or horizontal mills.</p></li><li><p>Work with small and large fabricated and cast parts.</p></li><li><p>Set up parts up in the Free State to minimize warping.</p></li><li><p>Utilize 4th Axis (rotary tables) to complete tasks, as required.</p></li><li><p>Perform other duties as assigned.</p></li></ul><p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p><ul><li><p>High school graduate or G.E.D. strongly preferred.</p></li><li><p>Must be able to read various measuring tools (i.e. calipers, micrometer &amp; bore gauges).</p></li><li><p>Must be comfortable running one off parts and small production runs.</p></li><li><p>Must be knowledgeable on Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerance.</p></li><li><p>Proven understanding of speeds and feeds, and machine codes required.</p></li><li><p>Proven experience working with various types of materials (Stainless, Leadloy, Brass, Delrin, 1045, 1050, Etc.) required.</p></li><li><p>Ability to operate overhead cranes using proper pick points required.</p></li><li><p>Must be able to safely lift 50-lb.</p></li><li><p>Ability to read engineering drawings schematics required.</p></li><li><p>Must possess good math skills (Trig, Geometry, Etc.)</p></li><li><p>Demonstrated ability to be adaptable, tactful, and self-directed when faced with tight deadlines and fluid environments required.</p></li><li><p>Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate in English required.</p></li><li><p>Must possess a proven history of being reliable with excellent attendance.</p></li><li><p>Conduct oneself with the highest level of professionalism and ethical standards.</p></li><li><p>Must Pass Physical and Drug Screen</p></li></ul> Globe Machine Manufacturing Tacoma WA
