  • Install, support, customize, test, implement and document IBM mainframe IMS and CICS system software and related program products in a global environment.

  • Develop, test and implement system modifications and support procedures. Prepare documentation describing local modifications and procedures.

  • Respond to system trouble notifications. Analyze, debug and correct system software problems. When needed, interface with IBM, software vendors, data center and customer personnel to resolve issues.

  • Provide customer support for application launches.

  • Participate in Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning and testing.

  • Evaluate software products and make acquisition recommendations to management.

  • Participate in Proof of Concept projects for modernization of IMS and CICS environments.

  • Participate in on-call rotation to provide after hours and weekend support.


  • Mainframe software IMS, CICS, z/OS, JES, VTAM, TCP/IP, RACF, TSO/ISPF, COBOL, REXX, JCL and Unix System Services

  • Ability to drive internal efficiencies

  • Ability to learn new skills quickly

  • Capable of handling multiple tasks

  • Enjoyment of problem resolution type of work

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Highly motivated

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with HTML, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Understanding of monitoring the production environments

  • Working knowledge of Security and Controls, ITPM and Sarbanes-Oxley policies

  • At least 4 years of prior experience in IT Operations or other infrastructure support

  • Working knowledge of Tivoli Omegamon, RACF, CICS or IMS in a JES2 or JES3 environment


  • Bachelors or higher in Information Technology

VIEW JOBS 11/20/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-18T00:00 Job Description: * IBM z/OS Operating Systems Sr. Systems Programmer Experience Required: * Install, customize, test, implement, document and support independent software vendor (ISV) products as required (this includes user modifications that require customization for release levels or related to site requirements) and work with the vendors on problems and resolution. * Code in Assembler to develop, test, implement, document and support system modifications and MVS and JES exits. * Analyze, debug and correct various z/OS software problems. * Support z/OS Unix System Services (USS) and Websphere environments. * Use IBM"s ServiceLink and interface with IBM technical support to resolve Operating System (z/OS) software and hardware problems. * Proficient in Assembler, REXX, Clist and SAS coding (highly desired). * Knowledge of RACF and ability to create and analyze RACF profiles. * Provide system-programming support for the installation and upgrade of mainframe hardware configurations. * Provide off hours support for Disaster Recovery planning and testing. * Able to provide 24 hours support 7 days per week 365 days per year (rotational duty) for software issues (will be provided with a cell phone and on call laptop). * Evaluate Software products as required and make recommendations to management. * Implement and maintain security and control policies, procedures and standards in all phases of Software and Hardware implementation changes. * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of installed Hardware and Software products. * Provide customer support by addressing Software/Hardware related trouble tickets providing levels 1, 2 and 3 support. Experience Preferred: * Experience with software installs and zOS upgrades using SMP/E. * GDPS knowledge. * Mainframe performance knowledge. Education Required: * B.S.
