Job Description:

Mainframe Communication Server System Engineer - Responsible for mainframe Communication Services software. Includes engineering, design and build of resilient, high-performing and secure connectivity and communication to and from the enterprise mainframe servers.

  • Responsible for components of complex engineering and/or analytical tasks and activities. Assist in problem solving, tuning and network resiliency designs, including mainframe tracing and sniffer analysis.

  • Serves as a fully seasoned/ proficient technical resource; provides technical knowledge and capabilities as a team member and individual contributor. Will not have direct reports but will influence or lead major projects/initiatives. "


  • 10-15 years in design, development, coordination and implementation of mainframe network engineering activities within z/OS, z/VM and Linux on z Series environments.

  • Participate in technical support, systems programming and data center capabilities.

  • Skilled in Assembler, REXX, and SAS programming.

  • Strong knowledge of encryption technologies and Certificate management.

  • Knowledge in Netview configurations and Clist coding.

  • Can develop technical solution requirements and lead individual or small team initiatives.

. Information Technology degree and/or technology certifications preferred or substantial equivalent experience.

. Must possess strong networking, problem solving and protocol skills, have a complete understanding of Mainframe communication concepts and be able to support mainframe connectivity design considerations.

. Must have extensive knowledge of IBM zEnterprise server hardware and in-depth working knowledge of TCP, UDP, ICMP communications.

Learn more at Job Description Req ID: 2019-13163 Locations: Richmond, Virginia, United States Job Type: Full-time regular Travel: No Title: Mainframe Systems Tester Position Overview: * Supports the testing of modifications to a Medicaid Management Information System. * Analyzes client's business requirements and processes. * Creates manual test cases to be used in testing business applications in order to verify that client requirements are incorporated into the system design. * Assists in creation of testing calendar to co-ordinate testing within the project and to establish time-lines for successful completion. * Develops/identifies test data for test scenarios. * Executes test cases and documents results of the execution. * Document defects identified during test case execution and work with developers to resolve the defects. * Utilizes all testing tools required for the project. * Supports the client during User Acceptance Testing. * All other duties assigned. Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent QA technical certifications. * 2+ years hand's on experience designing, creating and executing test cases * Experience in healthcare, Medicaid, managed care, medical claims processing or member eligibility. * Experience across the domain of testing types/phases, including Functional, Integration, Regression, System, and User-Acceptance Testing. * Experience in Healthcare or other large complex systems. * Two or more years' experience in SQL. * Experience with Mainframe * Strong organizational and analytical skills. * Fluent in the use of MS Office products. * Ability to work as part of a team and independently. * Strong analytical, documentation and communication skills to work effectively with team members, support personnel, clients and interfacing agencies.
