Mailroom Machine Operator

Randstad is looking for experienced machine operators for a reputable company in Clearwater!

2nd shift

  • 11:00 am

  • 8:00 pm - overtime opportunity

$12.00 - $13.00/hr

Mailroom machine operator, ability to be trained if needed!


  • Ensure that the environment, both physical and equipment, is safe to work in at all time

  • Ensure that jobs are expeditiously undertaken to meet established timeliness, quality, and productivity standards; constantly monitoring the quality of output

  • Ensure that equipment is used in accordance with established procedures, and in a safe and efficient manner

  • Responsible for equipment set-up and minor routine maintenance

  • Ensure that all procedures for preparing equipment for utilization are followed at all times, including blowing ??off the machines, clearing work area of garbage, proper and safe staging of supplies (i.e. envelopes, rubber bands, etc.)

  • Effectively interact with all levels of staff and management, as well as clients

  • Establish and maintain close working relationship with interrelated departments, in order to ensure timely and accurate services

  • Ensure that all postal reporting and manifest documentation is accurately and expeditiously completed and entered or delivered to the appropriate leadership

  • Ensure volume reconciliation documentation is accurately and expeditiously completed and entered into the appropriate reporting application

  • Ensure that all mailing supplies (i.e. trays, sleeves, labels, strapping material, shrink wrap) are being used in a correct and effective way

Working hours: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM


--A minimum of a high school diploma

--Excellent knowledge of automated mail processing and material handling equipment

--Working knowledge of operator procedures for applications and operating system software

--Knowledge of procedures for using supplies and maintaining inventory

--Knowledge of job control procedures

--Knowledge of job setup and run procedures

--Considerable skill in maintaining a continuous production level

--Considerable skill in analysis, solid decision-making and problem solving

--Skilled in following oral and written technical instructions

--Skilled in maintaining complete, accurate production and quality written records

--Ability to demonstrate a high degree of attention to quality, detail, and correctness

--Ability to judge reasonableness in most situations, to determine the severity of the situation, and determine applicable actions

--Must possess basic skills in PC utilization

--Ability to operate effectively under pressure

--Ability to lift up to 40 pounds

--Ability to work in an environment where standing for hours at a time is a necessity

--Ability to demonstrate good interpersonal skills

--Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

--Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, piers, and clients

Committed to offering excellence and innovation in the manufacture of titanium and other specialty metal products, Dynamet ensures strict quality controls through its testing and analysis laboratory. Dynamet is a member of Carpenter's Performance Engineered Products division and maintains a second manufacturing facility in western Florida. MACHINE OPERATOR DYNAMET - Clearwater, Florida location POSITION SUMMARY: Production Employees may be assigned to any department or machine in the plant. Flexibility and cross training are expected because as business conditions and needs change employee assignments may be changed. Assigned responsibility could include machine or process operation and inspection. Specific duties may vary between departments and / or processes. The plant currently is a 3-shift operation Monday through Sunday with many departments scheduling mandatory overtime during the week and on Saturday and possibly Sunday. PRIMARY DUTIES * Read work instructions from work order or traveler. Able to identify a quality product applied to and produced at the assigned manufacturing process. Consult with Foreman or previous shift operators to determine status of in process work, machine conditions and other work to be completed. * Set up manufacturing equipment, in reasonable time, using documented procedures, to produce quality product. Responsible to understand the operation of the manufacturing process in order to produce a quality product and to be proficient at machine operation. Observe machine operation to determine accuracy of operation and make subsequent adjustments as required to produce quality products efficiently. * Inform Foreman or Manager of any irregularities in material, equipment, procedures etc. including advance notice of need to replenish consumable wear parts. Responsible for maintaining crew compliance with established operating procedures. Maintain product and scrap identification. * Record required information on forms and/or electronic I/O devices. Communicate with other crewmembers to overcome or correct problems as they occur. Assist other operators as required during a downtime situation. Familiar with all process chemicals used in work area . * Operate plant mobile equipment and overhead cranes (pendant and radio controlled). Handle process wastes in accordance with documented procedures. Assist in the training of other Production Employees. Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work area. * Observe all safety rules and procedures including wearing designated personal protective equipment and lock out tag out. Work with Managers, Foreman, Engineers, Technical Development on process improvement projects. Participate in Continuous Improvement activities as requested. * Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by Foreman, Gang leader, or Manager * These duties and responsibilities reflects the general details necessary to describe the principle functions of the Production jobs at Dynamet, and shall not be interpreted as a detail description of all work requirements that may be inherent in the job. REQUIREMENTS * High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED). * Experience with Manufacturing process equipment, including but not limited to measurement tools – micrometers, weigh scales, hand tools – wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers, test equipment – eddy current, voltmeters. Experience with various grades of titanium, steel and process chemicals is preferred. * Requires the ability to pass a pre-employment test which includes a background check, physical including drug and alcohol screen. * Physical Demands/Work Environment – while performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: Reach with hands and arms, stand; walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
