The Department of Administrative Services at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Mail & Supply Clerk / Office Assistant 1 (Stores/Mail). The successful candidate will:
Lift packages, sacks, trays, and tubs of mail up to 40lbs. repeatedly.
Pull and push carts full of packages of various weights and sizes.
Spend a large part of the day standing up and moving around.
Be able to read small print.
Mail Services:
Timely and accurately receive, sort, and deliver incoming mail/packages from carriers such as The United States Postal Service (USPS), UPS, FedEx, and Amazon.
Process outgoing mail/packages to be picked up by such carriers as well as interoffice mail.
Assist in other Administrative Service department units as daily work volume of each unit and available staffing fluctuate.
Assist in troubleshooting issues that arise in each unit:

Required Qualifications:
Candidates will have sat for the New York State Department of Civil Service certification examination for Office Assistant 1 (Stores/Mail) and achieved a reachable score on a certified canvass.
Must have quality interpersonal, organizational, and customer service communication skills.
Basic PC and iPad computer skills.

Monday to Friday; 8:30am to 4:30pm (Full-Time)
