Keep a record of all mail and package received using the computer system to identify the date of receipt, where and who sent to for easy identification.

  • Sort packages and group them into different categories for easy dispatch and safe keep

  • Collect mail and packages from staff in the organization, and coordinate international shipments according to guidelines of destination

  • Interface with clients, vendors, and carriers professionally to maintain chain of custody and freight tracking

  • Work with courier services and postal offices to ensure prompt delivery and keep updated on quality of service delivery

  • Answer inquiries from the employee's tofill relevant details in distribution and shipping forms and provide accurate information to ensure a positive experience on request

  • Maintain supplies, including shipping and mailing envelopes, boxes, markers, forms stickers, and tape available to ensure that they don't go out of stock

  • Keep the mailroom organized by adequately arranging the bundles of mail and packages coming in to prevent littering and jam-packing in the office space

  • Present a professional appearance and exhibit excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication with internal and external clients

  • A clear sense of integrity, work ethic, and sincere interest in building strong relationships

  • Provide leadership and technical oversight within the assigned area of expertise

  • Cross train to support front desk receptionist

  • Customer assistance is a primary responsibility, coverage shall be provided for the receptionist, as needed, for breaks, lunches, planned and unplanned absences, and support tasks as outlined

Duties & Responsibilities * Operates all types of vehicles including heavy trucks, semi-tractor trailer rigs, passenger vans, and street sweepers as required within department * Makes scheduled deliveries, pick-up packages and mail on assigned routes * Loads and unloads vehicles (i.e. deliver truck, mail truck) * Occasionally operates medium to heavy powered equipment such as jack hammer, hydraulic saw, trench digger, compactor, roller, compressor and pumping equipment * Assists with packing supplies and equipment to distribute to the campuses * Assists the fleet operations area to deliver repaired vehicles to the campuses * Assists with processing the inventory as assigned * Participates generally in the laboring work of the crew * Washes, cleans and gives routine maintenance to the vehicles * Responds to after hour emergencies * Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Requirements * Completion of tenth grade High School education and demonstrated ability to read, write and understand written instruction and one (1) month of experience in the operation and routine maintenance of passenger cars, moderately heavy trucks or similar equipment * Possess a valid Florida Driver License class CDL A,B, or C with a "P" endorsement, if department requires driving a 15 or greater Passenger Van * Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures * Ability to use electronic mail, web based trouble report systems, and PDA based C.M.M.S software * Knowledge of traffic and other regulation governing the use of equipment * Knowledge of the occupational hazards involved and the safety precautions necessary in the operation of equipment * Ability to travel, since this is a district position requiring the individual to work on all campuses * Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evening and weekend assignments * Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff Essential Position * This function/position has been designated as essential.
