Under the supervision of the Deposit Services' Supervisor and Manager, this job involves handling and disbursing interoffice envelopes, disbursing incoming and outgoing mail, monitoring and scheduling of courier pick-ups and deliveries, receiving and logging overnight packages, working as a backup to other staff in the department, and working special projects as assigned.


  • Receive and distribute incoming, outgoing, and interoffice mail.

  • Receive and log overnight packages. Notify employees by email of the arrival of their packages.

  • Monitor and coordinate schedules of the courier pick-ups and deliveries to ensure adequate turnaround times of work and supplies are met.

  • Serve as back up to the other Deposit Services' staff.

  • Other duties may be assigned at any given time, such as:

  • Perform a variety of routine clerical, exception item processing and/or data entry functions necessary for the processing relative to the mission of the department.

  • Post entries to accounts, make adjustments, and ensure balancing as required.

  • Prepare volume, transaction and/or routine reports.

  • Review and verify documents for processing.

  • Respond to inquiries from customers and bank personnel and resolve routine problems.

  • Perform basic arithmetic calculations to determine charges, balances, interest, etc.

  • Conduct simple account or item processing research.

  • Review and process items and documents for duplication and discrepancies.

  • Receive, store, issue and replenish office supplies according to internal practices and procedures.

  • Open and distribute mail.

  • Data enter information into pre-established computer software files and print related reports/documents.

  • Perform miscellaneous errands such as delivering messages and reports, making photocopies of documents, etc.

  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and servicing (replacing toner, replacing tapes, etc.)


This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

  • High school graduate or GED; and three to six months related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

  • Ability to write simple correspondence.

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.


Basic Skills:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


Basic Skills:

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.


This should include all computer skills that are required to perform the essential duties of this job.

Examples are: Spreadsheet software (ex. MS Excel), Word Processing Software (ex. MS Word), 10-key calculator, facsimile machine, typing of at least 30 words per minute, etc.
