Position: Mail Room Assistant (0.5 FTE, 20 hours per week/12 months)
Office of the Chief Operating Officer
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for overseeing the mailroom and an additional storage room
Operate mail machines including the postage meter, photocopying machine, and mail folding machine
Process and weigh outgoing mail
Maintain records of receipt, mailing dates, and other required information
Organizes mail and packages for distribution to staff and departments within CPS, including the delivery of packages to staff in offices/workstations at the administration building (135 Berkshire Street)
Track postage in mail machine and report to Purchasing when additional postage is needed
Inventory mail supplies and place orders when additional supplies are needed
Your Skill Set:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Demonstrated organizational skills
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and work collaboratively with CPS staff
Attention to detail and ability to maintain a tidy, clean and functional workspace
Punctual and professional
Ability to meet schedules and timelines
Willing to travel to City departments and schools to pick up or drop off mail when needed

Salary:
Hourly rate: $20.43 - $23.65
Shift type: 0.50 FTE / 12 months per year, 20 hours per week
