Perform support and specialized tasks for the Office of Logistics Operations' Mail Services, Surplus, Inventory, Receiving and Purchasing areas.
Greet patrons who enter the department area, answer phones, make copies, file documents
Prepare and process bulk and individual outgoing mail from departments and affiliates to foreign and domestic areas, that require postage and/or special handling
Determine the most cost-effective methods for sending mail and packages
Operate a variety of mail equipment and software, such as - inserters, folders, trimmers, address printers, postage equipment, bulk mail processing software, address verification systems, mail management and tracking systems
Inspects, cleans, maintains, and troubleshoots mailing equipment and machines and arranges for service or maintenance by vendors as needed
Update and maintain various spreadsheets
Respond to inquiries from patrons to resolve routine problems or regarding Logistics Operations procedures, apply and interpret policies and procedures in response
Make deliveries and/or prepares mail and packages for delivery for departments both on and off campus
Process, prepare and deliver bulk mailings to the USPS BMEU (Bulk Mail Entry Unit) for processing and delivery to addressees
Export, prepare and submit various address reports for each bulk mailing to customers
Assist with, and/or process all outgoing/incoming mail and packages
Manage campus mailbox assignments and notifications for faculty and staff, as needed
Update campus-use and Mail Services' internal directories, as needed
Sort and distribute mail/packages
Pick up and deliver mail and packages around campus daily, regardless of the weather
Assist with the planning and coordination of tasks to be completed and the instruction of student and volunteer employees
Provide excellent customer service
Track incoming mail and packages with a tracking number/barcode, using tracking software
Cross train to learn all basic functions within Logistics Operations, with emphasis on providing back up support to Receiving, such as drive fork lift and/or use a pallet jack, to receive shipments/merchandise when needed
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED, Associate's degree preferred
Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
Ability to sort alphabetically and numerically
Ability to count items accurately and perform basic mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
Ability to use a computer and perform basic email, web search, word processing and spreadsheet functions on a computer
Experience using Microsoft Office software, including Word and Excel
Ability to communicate accurately and effectively in writing, over the phone or in person
Ability to perform the physical demands of the job as listed
Strong attention to detail; able to consistently produce an accurate work product in a fast-paced environment with multiple interruptions under deadlines
Proven cultural competency, including evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college staff and students
Strong organization and analytical skills
Effective problem-solving skills
Possess a valid WA state driver's license
Ability to follow directions
Ability to work well as an independent, self-starter or in a team environment
Ability to provide excellent customer service

Work Hours:
Part time, maximum 69 hours per month. Schedule will be determined based on department needs.
Typical hours would be mornings, Monday-Friday.

If you have held another part time hourly position at EvCC since July 1, 2022, additional time and hours limits will apply, so you may not be eligible for hire in this position.
Benefits
Paid sick leave accrues at 1 hour for every 40 hours worked.
