We are currently seeking a talented individual for the position of Mail Clerk. The successful candidate will support Mail Services and prepare, process and distribute incoming, outgoing, internal mail, including UPS, Fed-Ex, etc. parcel. Delivers and assists with other mailing problems. Other responsibilities include maintaining proper mailing procedures, equipment operations, and providing proper security of postal meters and record maintenance.

Normal Minimum Requirements :

  • Must have verbal communication skills

  • Must possess a valid up-to-date AZ driver's license

  • Perform basic math calculations

Please note: To be considered for this position, a Resume my be submitted, enumerating qualifications and skills. There will be a three-part testing procedure employed for this position. The first step will be a written Technical Skills test. Once the first objective has been fulfilled, the second step will be a lifting assessment. The final step in this process will be a behavioral based core competency interview. Each step of the process much be passed in order to progress to the next step.

Behavioral Based Interview

The interview is a behavioral based interview incorporating Tucson Electric Power Core Competencies. In this process we believe that past behavior is the best predictor of future behavior and more recent behavior is a better predictor of future behavior than older behavior, and that long-standing trends are better predictors of behavior than isolated incidents. Position Description:

This position will prepare, process, and distribute incoming, internal, outgoing mail and UPS, FED-EX, etc., deliveries and assist other with mailing problems. Other responsibilities include maintaining proper mailing procedures, equipment operations, and providing proper security of meters and record maintenance.

Essential Functions: (As defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, these include the following responsibilities, minimum job knowledge, skills, and abilities. This is not necessarily an all-inclusive listing.)

Position-Related Responsibilities:

Work and cooperate with other employees to accomplish assigned tasks.

Operate basic office equipment, including but not limited to: copiers, fax machines, calculators, personal computers, mail processing equipment, and other equipment as required in certain positions.

Ability to multi-task and prioritize

Pick up and drop off mail at various Post Office locations

Sort and deliver all incoming mail and packages in accordance with established procedures and time frames

General office clerk duties, when needed

Make mail runs between company campuses

Handle time sensitive material (customer bills, confidential packages)

Answer single or multi-line phones, route calls, and/or takes messages.

Delivery of copy paper to print rooms when needed

Follow written procedures or oral instructions pertaining to assigned area.

Ability to read and follow City street map

Have and retain a valid Arizona driver's license.

Perform assigned work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with Company practices and procedures.

This role will successfully works with drivers and equipment to check driver handhelds to ensure correct information. Completes various company and government forms utilized in freight movement such as shipping orders, freight bills, bills of lading, etc. to ensure accuracy for pickup and delivery of freight; operates an imaging device, AS400 or other company/internal freight monitoring system used within the company to enter the bills of lading into the computer system; administers information to the dock supervisors such as manifests, or bills of lading. Enters and posts all cash and check payments and ensures all delivery receipts are returned and signed. Also provides customer service by answering phones, tracing shipments and scheduling customer pick-ups as needed. Responsibilities * Prior to checking in the driver, checks each driver's handheld to ensure all information has been uploaded. * Checks correctness of driver's bills of lading (e.g. zip codes or export paperwork) * Ensures all bills of lading are accounted for by counting and comparing DR's to the manifest * Prints the driver's manifest and provides any hazardous materials bills of lading to the appropriate personnel. * Scans bills of lading and driver receipts into system for billers to access. * Handles and processes checks, COD's, or cash as needed and stows money safely * Verifies and handles driver collects and COD's. * Verifies delivery receipts and signatures. * Processes drivers that are outstanding in the driver check list. * Enters exception DR process on any/all pro numbers manually. * Assists operations by monitoring and following up on various reports, such as EDI, spot trailer report, spotted shipment report, etc. * Answers phone/s, sets appointments, and traces shipments as necessary * Works assigned shift as needed, must be flexible with schedule Qualifications * High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. * Background in transportation or warehousing helpful. * Experience with AS/400 a plus Join the OD Family Today!
