ELS is hiring for the position of Mail Clerk in Harlingen, Texas.

What you'll do:

The Mail Room Clerk assists with the regular recording, sorting and distribution of mail for property residents.

Your job will include:

  • Receive mail and verify the receipt of packages and delivery requirements.

  • Assist residents with the receipt of packages.

  • Sort through mail, verify addresses and deposit into appropriate mail boxes.

  • Research incorrectly addressed mail to find proper addresses.

  • Forward mail to alternate addresses when appropriate.

  • Distribute company information into mail boxes when required.

  • Distribute keys to residents.

  • Obtain forwarding labels from residents.

  • Maintain a professional and courteous attitude at all times.

Experience & skills you'll need:

  • High school diploma, or the equivalent.

  • Exceptional customer service skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to details.

  • Valid driver's license, good driving record and current auto insurance.

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

The HSCS is a hub of excellence for forensic mental health and complex psychiatric care, with all facilities accredited by The Joint Commission. <br><br> The hospitals provide state-of-the-art treatment that is recovery-oriented and science-based. Whether in a direct-care or support role, your contribution will make a difference in the life of a Texan.</p><p>Transcribes medical and psychiatric dictation using digital dictation system. Reviews and edits transcribed reports or dictated material for spelling, grammar, clarity, consistency and proper medical terminology prior to entry into the patient electronic record. <br><br> Documents completion of core assessments in transcription logs. Reviews, analyzes, and prepares patient documents for scanning into the patient electronic record. Other duties as assigned.</p><p>Individual must be available to work hours other than 8:00 - 5:00 pm and participate with weekend and holiday on-call rotation.</p><p>Will be under direct supervision by the HIM Transcription Team Lead.</p><p>Compliance with HHS Immunization Policy required: serologic evidence of immunity to, or documented evidence of vaccination against, measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chickenpox), Tdap, annual vaccination against influenza (and hepatitis B if applicable).</p><p>Essential Job Functions:</p><p>Attends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.</p><p>Shall transcribe/enter into CWS all MD History and Physicals, Psychiatric Evaluations, AIMS</p><p>Assessments, Columbia Suicide Risk Assessments, Physician Progress Notes, Physician Discharge Order Notes, in accordance with organization and department policy and procedures. Will be responsible for ensuring the editing and proof-reading of all transcribed reports/CWS entries before e-filing in the patient record. Will also maintain a current, complete and accurate log of all completed assessments</p><p>Will monitor CWS Concurrent Audit Reports and provide timely notification to physicians and staff to ensure core assessments are completed and finalized within the specified timeframes.</p><p>Will file assessments into the patient records daily.</p><p>Will retrieve and disassemble discharge records from patient units</p><p>Other duties as assigned by HIM supervisory and management team.</p><p>Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency's obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location.</p><p>Knowledge Skills Abilities:</p><p>This position requires medical transcription work experience as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to effectively interact with various discipline levels and patients.</p><p>Employee must be able to work independently and productively with all levels of staff. Skilled in the use of personal computers and software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. <br><br> Must have experience in the use of electronic medical records. Must ensure that no information, facts, or comments learned in the performance of duty are discussed in order to protect the confidentiality of the patients served and/or Rio Grande State Center.</p><p>Ability to type at least 50 words per minute. Knowledge of the maintenance and review of medical records for timeliness, completeness, accuracy and compliance. <br><br> Must be able to transcribe physician dictation with minimal error. Job requires being detail oriented and thorough in completing work tasks. Registration or Licensure Requirements:</p><p>None. Initial Selection Criteria:</p><p>Must be a graduate from a standard senior high school. Must be a graduate of an accredited Medical Information Specialist / Medical Office certification program or Health Information Technology program.</p><p>Must have medical records department, medical office or medical unit clerk work related experience.
