Job Summary
The Mail Clerk is primarily responsible for the following Mail Center operations:
Sorting student mail, forwarding, student package processing, and service counter functions (e.g., package retrieval, express shipping services, FAX services, stamp sales, UPS & USPS shipping services).
Cross-train to work in the Copy Center and Lettershop, as needed.
This position requires frequent lifting, carrying, and moving of boxes weighing up to 70 pounds within the Mail Center and for delivery across campus.

Education/Skills Requirements
Required:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy in mail processing.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to interact professionally with staff and external contacts.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Dependable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.
Ability to lift and move packages of varying weights and eye/hand coordination.
Adaptability to changing priorities and schedules.
Preferred:
Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Familiarity with other office software and tools.
Fast and accurate typing skills to transcribe and process documents.
Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents
Required:
Preferred:
Previous experience in a mailroom working with USPS rules, rates, regulations, mid-volume copier/printers, and mailing equipment.
Prior experience cashiering providing superior customer service in fast-paced environment.
Standard Work Days and Hours
Friday from 8:30 am
5:00 pm.
Some overtime hours in the evenings and on the weekend may be necessary.
Required to work for major college events and weekends.
This position is scheduled to work 40 hours/week, year round (1.00 FTE)
