Job Title: Mail Clerk
The mail clerk performs mailroom duties which include, sorting and delivering USPS mail, shipping overnight packages (domestic and International), receiving and delivering overnight packages, utilizing postage machine to ship packages and properly handle critical packages. Process and handle classified mail items (Secret Clearance-SF86 required). Assist Facilities Admin and Financial Admin in data entry and record retention. Maintain logs of equipment certifications and inspections. Maintain insurance certification logs. Assist in badging of contractors. May be required to troubleshoot equipment or facilities problems and report them to supervisor. Moderate understanding of general job aspects and superficial understanding of the technical phases of the job. Performs routine, repetitive, and basic tasks where precedent, methods and processes are well established. Makes simple decisions, but refers most to more experienced personnel.
This position will work M-F 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform mail room duties: receiving, sorting and delivering USPS mail. Drive to post office and remote LM buildings for pick up/ delivery of mail. Use of company provided vehicle for movement of mail/parcels between buildings and post office.
Perform shipping and receiving duties: shipping, receiving and delivering overnight packages, to include classified items. Drive to post office and remote LM buildings for pick up/delivery of mail. Use of company provided vehicle for movement of mail/parcels between buildings and post office.
Preform mailroom duties: maintaining shipping logs, processing changes for incoming and outgoing new employee mail folders
Performing mailroom duties: handling secure packages, preparing shipping for secure packages, receiving and delivering secure packages. Drive to post office and remote LM buildings for pick up/delivery of material. Use of company provided vehicle for movement of mail/parcels between buildings and post office.
Interface with other contractors and departments with whom they must work or share joint responsibilities to assure a proper working business atmosphere is maintained at all times. Assist in badging of contractors.
Perform office moves/install nameplates. Escort contractors in campus buildings, as needed.
Use of office machines and equipment. Use of postage and tracking machines.
Document all anomalies, significant weather disturbances, frozen pipes, glass breaks, door closure concerns, roof leaks, or other facility deficiencies and inform supervisor.
High School diploma/GED required
1 to 3 years prior experience managing mail in a corporate environment and administrative duties required
Valid drivers license required
Must be willing to cross train in other departments
Knowledge of shipping overnight packages (Domestic and International)
Ability to learn UPS and Fed Ex software.
Competent computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft office products
