Salary Range: $43,000 - $67,800 (TECH I) $55,600 - $87,900 (TECH II)
Work Location Type: Hybrid (100% dedicated onsite)
What you job will be like:
As a member of the Magnet Group, this position will create models and drawings in: cryogenics, magnets, process piping for air or water, vacuum systems and radiation shielding. Projects often require special technologies for fabrication some of which are furnace brazing, coil winding, resin transfer molding, 3D printing, and more.
In this role as a TECH I you will:
Produce drawings from CAD Models using the NX software. These drawings will require dimension and tolerance for all features and may also require surface finish and have notes for fabricators and assembly personnel. Bills of Materials are very important on these drawings and must be accurate.
Create CAD Models of parts that will be required for larger assemblies.
Check drawings of others. Checking drawings is critical to low fabrication failure and thus sticking to budget and schedule it will also help you learn the JLab systems that the Magnet Group works on.
Help the technicians with reading the drawings and with actual assembly of systems. Going through the process of assembly is one of the last checks of any design and can be instrumental in growth of personal skills. Designers in the magnet group are often required to be involved in system fabrication and assembly.
