As a Machinist at Valmet you will work to set up and operator all machines within the plant as well as the ability to hone, plate and metalize on paper machine rolls and parts. You'll work on repairing customer supplied equipment to its original manufacturer's specifications using blueprints, machine tools and other processes as needed to complete those repairs.

Expectations

You'll use measuring instruments to check and perform job functions to the required measurements as well as translate prints and instructions into a finished quality product. You will be responsible for all minor machine repairs/adjustments with the ability to troubleshoot minor repairs including the performance maintenance assigned to machinery. You will be expected to use the preventative maintenance system to make all requests for repair and service.

To succeed in this role, you will need

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) along with strong mechanical aptitude. Must have the ability to understand, follow instructions and complete tasks.

Must be capable of wearing and using other safety equipment as required. Good understanding of measuring instruments and capable of taking accurate measurements to check and perform job functions.
