BAE Systems in Fort Walton Beach has an immediate opening for a CNC Machine Operator.
Sets up and operates conventional, special-purpose, and computer numerical control (CNC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts, and fits and assembles machined parts into complete units, applying knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, machinability of materials, and layout techniques.
Functions (may include but not limited to any combination of the following tasks)
Position work piece against stops, manually or using hoist or align layout marks with die or blade.
Push button or depress pedal to activate machine.
Observe machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunctions.
Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from work piece using files, hand grinders, or wire brushes.
Perform minor machined maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or work pieces.
Tend machines that fabricate and assemble sheet metal products.
Set stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template.
Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
Measure work piece dimensions using micrometer, calipers, dial indicator, rule, template, or other measuring instruments to determine accuracy of machine operation.
Able to input program from program department.
Able to set up fixturing.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
