Job Description Summary
We are seeking a dependable all-around Machinist with at least 5 years' experience to work in our custom and R&D shop environment. Applicants should be fluent in reading part drawings of high complexity, understanding the GD&T symbols and methodology. Applicants should also be able to operate manual lathes and Bridgeport mills as well as possess some CNC experience, machine within tolerances and work with minimal supervision. This is not a production processing position.
5+ years of experience
Highly skilled machinist/toolmaker with a demonstrated ability to perform tight tolerance jobs including on miniature parts down to 1mm size.
Ability to collaborate with R&D engineers to specify and fabricate precision jigs and fixtures from blueprints and sketches.
Capable of managing a steady flow of designs and ability to shift priorities when necessary
Familiarity with SolidWorks CAD: opening models and assemblies, taking measurements, printing.
Knowledge of machining all types of material with an emphasis on stainless steel.
Experience with a fast-paced prototype environment
Has instinct for accuracy, the feel of machines and the ability to hand fit/adjust precision mechanisms
Ability to run milling machine with Proto-TRAK Retrofit installed
Familiar with, and embraces, safety protocols for all equipment, both manual and electrical, and willing to ensure that shop visitors abide by safety policies
High attention to detail and be able to self-motivate
Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions a must.
Must be able to lift 55 lbs. properly
