Do you enjoy operating Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines? The Geophysical Institute is looking for two Machinists to join our research-focused Machine Shop to use CNC machines, lathes, milling machines, and other equipment to fabricate, construct, and complete projects.

To thrive in this position, we're looking for an experienced machinist who is organized, able to communicate clearly and effectively, and has knowledge of CAD software and knowledge of 3D printing capabilities.
Minimum qualifications are a Master's level or equivalent certification in a specialized field including, but not limited to, electrical, mechanical, or plumbing; or a minimum of 15 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Basic knowledge and/or experience with CNC machines.
A valid driver's license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria is required.

Salary Information: CT3 /Step 1 $30.87/hr. (See Article 9.2 in the L6070 Collective Bargaining Agreement, Wage Grade Schedule - http://www.alaska.edu/labor/local-6070/ ).
