Job Summary

Under minimal supervision, assures the company maintains proper qualifications/certifications and training and develops/certifies procedures to meet customer, government, and company requirements.

Job Responsibilities

1.Provides guidance on Design/Fabrication of prototype-machining fixtures for utilization in NC Machine Processes.

2.Reviews manufacturing processes/advises engineering on optimization and / or potential problems.

3.May run all machines and controllers in immediate area, as required, to implement Automated NC Machine processes.

4.Reviews and advises/recommends process improvements based on Automated NC Machine Implementation strategies. Trains machinists in utilization and best practice of Automated NC Machine Processes.

5.Prepares and implements cross training, including theory and practice testing.

6.Reviews processes for optimal performance including; fixturing, probing, standard tooling, cutter motion, speeds and feeds, cutter geometry, and coatings with a focus towards Automated Machining.

7.Reviews discrepancies and uses analytical problem solving to identify and recommend changes to processes that address root cause. Abilities must include machine capability knowledge and process variables. Use analytic tools available to evaluate and diagnose non-conforming items.

8.Assists in developing best practices on NC programs for machining, probing, OP Sheets, and tooling concepts for Automated NC Machine Processes.

9.Provides technical assistance to perform Adaptive Machining Implementations and process improvements in accordance with customer requirements.

10. Assist in making minor NC program edits using Siemens NX and Vericut.

11. Ensures the company's commitment to maintain a safe workplace and to protect the environment through the establishment and support of Company policy and adherence to various government regulations.

12. Fully complies with the "GKN Aerospace, Inc. Policy Statement on Contracting with the United States Government" in all areas of responsibility involving direct and indirect contracting with the United States Government. Ensure subordinate staff is aware of the policy and their individual responsibility and accountability for complying with it.

13. Performs other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED Equivalent

• 7+ years' experience in the field of process focus.

• Must have good communication skills and be able to train and maintain certification documents.

Preferred Qualifications:

• GKN Experience

• Computer proficiency is desirable.

Compensation Range

The compensation range for this position is between $64,165 - $80,206.
