Machinist

PRIMARY FUNCTION Set-up and operate various types of machine tools and performs fitting and assembly work on fixtures and parts as required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Must be able to lift 25 pounds Must be able to push/pull 25 lbs.

Replacement parts for vacuum furnaces, stools, molds, & hot tops. Works with hi-temperature alloys ferrous, non-ferrous, and non-metallic materials. SOURCE OF SUPERVISON Foreman WORKING PROCEDURE Receives instructions, prints, sketches, and Work Orders.

Lays out and performs various machining operations working from prints and sketches, determining working procedure. Checks incoming material from outside machinists to see that it conforms to specifications. Make sketches of parts to be machined, as required.

Using machinist's handbooks makes his own calculations as required regarding fits and tapers. Chooses the proper tool for any particular jobs and maintains tool in proper condition to perform the job efficiently. Works to precision tolerances and finishes, as specified adjusting stops, feeds, and speeds, using precision measuring instruments.

Assembles fixtures performing the necessary fitting and aligning to close tolerances. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter .
