Description

Under close supervision, sets up and operates one or two production machines on routine and repetitive operations. Requires the ability to follow written instructions and read blueprint specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies work to be done by following standardized communication procedures. Cooperatively flexes into other areas as assigned.

  • Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required. Resolves routine questions and problems, refers complex issues to higher levels.

  • Ensures product and process quality is maintained through visual inspection, measuring instruments and testing as required.

  • Bring concerns about product and process quality to attention of area management.

  • Thoroughly documents all product travelers ensuring proper quality documentation as applicable to a given process. Enters data and performs computer transactions as appropriate.

  • Contributes input to and cooperates with improvement teams and lean manufacturing efforts to help improve quality, shorten cycle times, and reduce manufacturing costs.

  • Performs preventative maintenance on, and ensures calibration of, equipment, tools, and fixtures, as required.

  • Willingly participates in inter and/or intra departmental job rotations as needed.

  • Keeps work area clean and organized, in accordance with 5s 1 principles.

  • Knows and follows all safety procedures as required in a specific operation. Identifies safety concerns and takes appropriate action.

  • Willingly shares skills and knowledge.

  • Effectively gives and receives feedback.

  • Cooperatively performs additional duties as assigned.

  • Maintains good safety, attendance, and performance records.

  • Able to read, interpret, and follow written, visual, drawings and verbal work instructions.

  • Demonstrates ability to perform basic setups and capable of machining standard parts on one or more machines.

  • Demonstrates ability to read and understand man readables and programs.

  • Demonstrates ability to communicate clearly and work well with all members of a team.

  • Demonstrates ability to follow all company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Trade School a plus.

  • 0-2 years machining experience required.

Summary * Responsible for the efficient testing, troubleshooting and repair of Company products and related sub-assemblies. Interfaces regularly with Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Technical Support to receive work assignments and provide product information. Primary Duties and Responsibilities * Tests and/or tunes standard products within established time frames. * Troubleshoots and repairs, to the component level, products and sub-assemblies that do not pass test processes. Provides second-level troubleshooting support and failure analysis when necessary. * Accurately completes all paperwork relating to jobs performed, including, but not limited to, work order forms, Material Reject Reports, product travelers, Inspection Reports, stockroom requisitions and forms, and system data entry. * Trains lower-level assemblers in standard product test procedures, test/troubleshooting/rework techniques, and all job-related paperwork. * Inspects products and sub-assemblies for workmanship and compliance to documentation. * Cleans work area(s) on a daily basis. * Performs other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Minimum Requirements * Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology (ASEET) or related field or equivalent experience. * At least five years of experience in an electronic manufacturing environment. * Good manual dexterity. * Ability to read and understand simple to complex assembly procedures, drawings and schematics. * Ability to recognize acceptable and defective assemblies from procedures and drawings. * Basic computer skills. * Good soldering skills. * Good problem solving skills. * Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
