Basic Function
The position interacts with other technical groups on site (e.g., Technical, Maintenance, Operations and Capital Projects), LyondellBasell Technical Networks, Global Asset Integrity and Turnarounds (GAIT), other LyondellBasell manufacturing sites, suppliers and original equipment manufacturers (OEM) as-needed to improve Machinery availability and life cycle cost performance.
Roles & Responsibilities
Systematically develop, monitor and continuously improve a maintenance strategy that ensures Machinery will function as required and realize value throughout the life cycle. Task types include:

Condition monitoring (e.g., PdM, digital health monitoring)
Preventive Maintenance or PM (e.g., scheduled overhauls)
Failure-finding (e.g., proof-testing of Machinery protection systems)
Corrective Maintenance (e.g., replacement work instructions, repair plans)

Develop and lead the execution of the strategic transformation of the Machinery maintenance program to maximize the application of on-line and digital Machinery health monitoring.
Integrate aspects of on-line and digital Machinery health monitoring into the capital long-range plan (LRP).
Work with equipment discipline experts, manufacturing, IT, digital and third parties to improve Machinery performance through the implementation of digital tools and advanced analytics.
Prioritize implementation of digital tools and advanced analytics specific to Machinery.
Lead programs and training as needed to enhance the reliability culture at the site as it relates to digital transformation.
Guide the development and refinement of the Machinery spare parts strategy to appropriately manage unavailability risk.
Leverage learning from experience to continuously improve the Machinery maintenance strategy and LyondellBasell's broader asset management systems.
Apply data analysis techniques to develop engineering solutions to repetitive failures and other problems that adversely affect process safety, personnel safety, environmental, regulatory, operational and quality performance.
Apply value analysis (e.g., life cycle cost analysis) to repair/replace, repair/redesign and make/buy decisions.
Provide technical support/expertise within your discipline during the front-end engineering and design (FEED) and execution phases of capital projects to ensure newly-installed and modified assets realize value throughout their life cycle.
Collaborate with peers at the site and across LyondellBasell.
Participate in the development of design and installation specifications, acceptance tests, inspection criteria and commissioning plans for new assets.
Participate in the development of criteria for the evaluation of equipment and technical material suppliers and technical maintenance service providers.
Maintain awareness of emerging technology, assessing applicability to improve reliability and performance, or to reduce maintenance cost.
Manage risk to the achievement of an organization's strategic objectives in the areas of environmental health and safety, asset capability, quality and production
Provide technical support within your discipline to production, maintenance, project and process engineering groups.

Min. Qualifications
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience in maintaining and improving reliability of rotating equipment (Machinery) in the refining, petrochemical, chemical process, or power generation industries is preferred. Strong interpersonal leadership skills are critical due to the requirement for effective communication of complex issues across the organization as well as for mentoring and consensus building. The successful candidate must exhibit an understanding of business drivers, management of change requirements, reliability processes, and maintenance workflow. The individual must have or develop proficiency in the following areas:

Experience with extrusion equipment (e.g., extruders, pelletizers) is preferred, but is not required.
Category II Vibration Analyst certification, or potential to acquire certification.
Strong interpersonal leadership skills are critical due to the requirement for effective communication of complex issues across the organization as well as for mentoring and consensus building.
Exhibit an understanding of business drivers, management of change requirements, reliability processes and maintenance workflow.
Proven proficiency in the following areas:

Industry codes and standards (e.g., API, ASME, ANSI)
Machinery (e.g., pumps, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, positive displacement blowers, gearboxes, extruders, pelletizers)
Stationary Equipment (e.g., heat exchangers, pressure vessels, piping, flange make-up)
Predictive (PdM) and preventive maintenance (PM) practices commonly applied to machinery
Machinery diagnostics, troubleshooting and repair
Component failure analysis
Reliability engineering concepts
Reliability data analysis techniques

Project management process (PMP) support from the Machinery SME perspective.
Application of computer software tools (e.g., SAP, Microsoft Office, AMS, Power BI).
Strong commitment to safety, a high level of personal integrity and dedication to conducting business in an ethical way.
