AECOM is actively seeking a Marine Electrician Technician to provide timely condition assessments, fault diagnostics and repair recommendations for the rotating machinery based on machinery condition assessment and monitoring technologies including but not limited to vibration analysis, performance data, information gathered from the ships' crews, reviews of maintenance data and visual inspections of machines and condition based maintenance on Coast Guard vessels. The position will be located at the Norfolk, Virginia office.
Essential Responsibilities : Primary skills required are in condition based maintenance assessment and water tight door repair, expertise is recognized in candidates with some previous marine electrician training.
Must be able to read drawings and specifications
In-depth knowledge of electrical circuitry, electrical principles and their practical application
Ability to comply with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and safety practices
Perform assessment and repair to various water tight doors, hatches and scuttles.
Conduct Machinery assessment cutter visits using the following machinery assessment technologies:
Provide assessment debriefs to ship forces.
Work performed on Coast Guard vessels requires travel. Most visits are conducted outside of the Norfolk VA area. Position may involve routine lifting up to 50 pounds, regular handling, grasping, kneeling and carrying, and constant use of vision and mental alertness is required.
Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years job-related experience or equivalent.
Excellent communications and analytical skills and working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.
Some positions may require the ability to investigate, troubleshoot and design solutions to technical problems.
Position requires 75% travel
Ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance which requires U.S. citizenship
Support management, organizational and business tasks, consults as an SME to solve complex problems in technical areas, including but not limited to science, logistics, asset management, operations, research, program management, risk, information technology, finance, and acquisition.
Provide expert technical analyses and advice in specific technical areas to support management, organizational and business decisions.
Participate in meetings, task groups, teams, reviews and other environments to assist in collaborative results.
Conduct site visits, investigations and studies to gather information.
Prepare reports, presentations and papers to document findings, opinions and recommendations.
Lead/mentor junior personnel.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Conduct assessments using the following machinery assessment technologies:
Motor Circuit Analysis (MCA)
Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship
