This position is eligible for a $2,000 Signing Bonus

Primary Objective: Perform machining operations in accordance with MTS Machine Shop procedures and work instructions. Utilize documentation and skills to provide parts and assemblies to internal and external customers that meet quality and schedule requirements.

Major Areas of Accountability:
1.Performs machining operations on a variety of parts and is fully competent in the following areas:

  • Accept responsibility for completing required operations in an efficient manner.

  • Take initiative and make decisions to meet the customers' expectations.

  • Perform set-ups in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Perform normal preventative maintenance as required or apparent.

  • Maintain a clean and well-organized work area; work in conjunction with both shifts to do so.
    2.Demonstrate an understanding of / ability to:

  • MTS machining prints and meet print requirements.

  • Machine Shop routing system.

  • Inspect and verify dimensions to required accuracy.
    3.Perform machining operations in the following manner:

  • Provide constructive feedback to area supervisor on quality issues, trends and workload. Exhibit willingness to help resolve issues regarding schedules and priorities.

  • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to work overtime and to meet demands of other work stations.

  • Interact and communicate effectively with all colleagues, including supervisors. Display ability to work as a part of team.

  • Operate and maintain equipment in a safe manner. Identify safety hazards and involve appropriate parties to resolve.

  • Initiate creative and/or innovative ideas and shows willingness to implement them.
    4.Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.

Qualifications:

Two year certification from college or trade school and 8+ years applicable experience in a machine shop environment or high school diploma and 12+ years applicable experience in a machine shop environment

Ability to read and understand CNC G-code and M-code for CNC operators or ability to run multiple manual machine

Possesses advanced knowledge of machining tolerances and measuring equipment, tooling selection, machine setup and operation

Ability to enter machine offsets and calculate tool compensation for CNC operators

Primary Objective: To perform Nylon operations in accordance with MTS Nylon procedures and work instructions, and to provide parts and assemblies to internal and external customers that meet quality and schedule requirements. Major Areas of Accountability: 1. Performs material surface preparation through multiple methods including, but not limited to: sandblasting, abrading, degreasing, washing, chemically treating, masking. 2. Performs Nylon application to heated parts in conjunction with MTS Nylon procedures. Heats parts to correct temperature for melting the nylon coatings by the use of oven or induction heater. 3. Applies coating to heated surfaces by use of spray powder system and monitors process to ensure proper coating adhesion and thickness. 4. Performs normal preventative maintenance, including the monitoring chemical compounds, etching solutions and the consistency of solutions. 5. Demonstrates an understanding of MTS machining prints and meets print requirements as they pertain to nylon. 6. Demonstrates an understanding of the Machine Shop routing system. 7. Demonstrates an ability to inspect and verify critical features both in process and post. 8. Willing to help resolve issues regarding schedules and priorities. 9. Provides feedback to area supervisor on quality problems, trends and work load. 10. Initiates creative and/or innovative ideas and shows willingness to implement them. Other Job Duties: * Operates and maintains equipment in a safe manner. Identifies safety hazards and involves appropriate support persons. * Takes initiative and makes decisions to meet the customers' expectations. * Keeps work area clean and well organized while working in conjunction with personnel from both shifts. * Performs all Nylon duties in an efficient manner, utilizes process cycle time to complete multiple tasks. Qualifications: * High School graduate or G.E.D equivalency. * 4+ years machine shop experience or 4+ years painting or powder coating experience. * Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills, including with colleagues, supervisor, and customers. * Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to work overtime and to meet demands of other work stations. Physical Demands: Ability to stand and walk for 10 hours per day. Ability to crouch, twist and work in tight spaces.
