Key Responsibilities
The Machinery Sales Representative is responsible for providing production solutions to cabinet, furniture, and other manufacturers in Oregon and Washington. You will successfully manage the sales of capital equipment through structured consultative sales discussions, ultimately serving as a business advisor to your customers. By positioning yourself as an indispensable resource, you will enable your customers to solve problems and increase business results. In turn, you will be building a thriving business of your own.
Increase sales results in the machinery product segment, selling both directly and partnered with others
Schedule and hold face-to-face meetings with new and existing customers, learning about their business and how machinery solutions can enhance their results
Maintain accountability for the growth of your territory, both through new customer acquisition as well as the development of existing relationships
Identify and analyze past buying patterns of current accounts, and brainstorm ways to become their stronger, more inclusive supplier
Provide a state-of-the-art customer service experience, positioning yourself as their desired one-stop shop
Educate yourself on and continuously stay up to date with machinery offerings as well as ever-changing market conditions and competitive analysis
Participate in manufacturer's training to increase machinery and product knowledge
Hold responsibility for system information and reporting in CRM application
Follow up on leads from hardware representatives and close sales
Position may require lifting/pushing/carrying items up to 50 pounds, working around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals
What We Are Looking For
Experience in sales, optimally outside sales within the building materials or construction industries
Eager to learn, with a passion for providing solutions to customers and a drive to achieve successful sales growth
An excellent communicator (both in writing and speaking) who is curious, engaging, and proactive
Knowledge or experience within these areas is preferred: building materials, bathroom or kitchen cabinetry, closets, millwork, etc.
Highly motivated, able to self-direct and manage your own time and responsibilities, organize and plan your work efficiently
Able to learn and proficiently use our CRM (Customer Relationship Management) program to track daily activity, plan and optimize sales calls, and follow up with customers' requests or needs
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; must be able to effectively use Excel, Word, Outlook for daily responsibilities and tasks
This position may occasionally involve lifting/pushing/carrying items up to 50 pounds
