Machine Operator/Press Operator(2Nd Shift 4:30 Pm To 4:30Am)

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

• The Machine Operator is responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, banding cabinet parts, making the necessary adjustments for the different materials, and performing preventive maintenance and housekeeping.

• Responsible for communicating with the Supervisor, Lead person, and Gatekeeper on daily schedules, and priorities such as rush orders, samples, remakes, etc.

• Responsible for preventive maintenance action items performed daily per training authorizations. Notify Supervisor or Lead person of machine breakdowns and continuous rejects or quality issues.

• Responsible for completing the daily scheduled work and the quality of the processed parts.

• Responsible for all documentation of preventive maintenance, quality control, downtime, and production quantities.

• Notify Supervisor or Lead person to order raw materials as needed.

• Must be able to set up the machine for optimum performance and make adjustments as needed.

• Responsible for leading by example in regard to PPE requirements, to have punctual attendance and breaks, and to "Drive" compliance in all areas.

• Perform and maintain good housekeeping practices along with the 5S standards.

• Additional duties as assigned by Dept. Supervisor or Lead person.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Must have basic ability for reading and writing, perform basic math skills and the ability to read a measuring tape.

• Must be able to identify various colors.

• Previous experience with basic computer skills but will train.

• Must have a strong sense of urgency in accomplishing hourly goals and problem solving.

• Detail oriented.

Education and/or Experience

• 2-3 years' experience.

• Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Will take work experience in lieu of education.

• Machine experience preferred.

Physical Requirements and/or Working Conditions

Factory environment, possibly including heavy lifting, and areas where eye protection, hearing protection, and respirators are required.
