Description and

The Machine Operator has the primary responsibility of managing the operation of the packaging lines and coordinating with other team members to achieve the most efficiency and highest quality of finished goods.
  • Responsible for proper safe operations of the packaging equipment, as well as GMP requirements.
  • Responsible for running the packaging lines as per Production Supervisor instructions.
  • Provides leadership to general labor crew by giving direction and feedback in order to hit daily production schedules and goals.
  • Responsible for flavor changes.
  • Perform the necessary machine settings, change tools including Hoppers, Augers, Can Twisters.
  • Adjust label sizes and fill weights for different containers.
  • Load rolls of film on machines.
  • Per shift, maintain equipment clean, weigh charts every half hour and record keeping as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal and State labor laws.
  • Comply with HACCP and GMP protocols for Production.
  • Perform QC protocols as required by supervisor.
  • Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements as trained.
  • Team member must ensure efficiency, operational conformance, product quality and continuous improvement.
  • Follow GMPs, SOPs and safety rules in order to maintain a safe, quality conscience work environment at all times.
  • Notify the Supervisor of any packaging deficiencies and any food safety violations.

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum one year recent food manufacturing experience.
  • Must be able to read and write in English.
  • Good mathematical aptitude, with ability to add, multiply, subtract, and divide.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly.
  • Available to work overtime when needed.
  • Ability to lift, stand, and stoop for long periods of time.
  • Team player, action oriented and problem solving abilities.

A Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of machines that are used for the manufacture of finished goods. The machines operate at rates ranging from 100 units per minute to 250 units per minute. The work environment is very fast-paced and requires a high degree of attentiveness and the ability to react quickly to work place variables. In addition to operating machines, operators will have duties and responsibilities as outlined below. Major tasks include: Advocate and practice the principals of the Safety program and avoid equipment hazards as defined in operating procedures Participate in plant safety committee meetings and activities Operate packaging equipment such as robotics, filling machines, case packers, labelers, etc. Monitor quality or product in manufacturing and packaging areas to include OTMIS (off the mill in spec), cycles, fill levels, package appearance, fill weights, and raw material certificate of analysis Report any quality issues to supervisor or Quality Assurance lab personnel Reading and following instructions in all areas of the production floor, manufacturing, packaging, etc. Participate in house keeping activities that are indicative of a safe and clutter free work environment Basic Qualifications: Must be able to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English Must have the legal right to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship now or in the future for employment visa status Must be at least 18 years of age Must have access to reliable transportation Must be able to work overtime with or without reasonable accommodation Able to pull, carry or lift up to 50 pounds frequently and 50-100 occasionally with or without reasonable accommodation The successful candidate must also pass a pre-employment background check, physical and drug screen.
