As a Machine Operator you will operate, set up, and perform light maintenance on multiple types of machinery to include fabric and paper coating, film extrusion, slitting, inspecting, and rib forming machines. This individual will read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements. The Machine Operator will perform minor machine maintenance, such as lubrication of machinery, sharpening the coating/slitting knives, and/or routine cleaning. Complete day to day Quality Control Records (Process Control) and Inventory Records (Daily Production Sheets) and must be able to perform basic mathematics and utilize multiple hand tools. Other duties assigned as required.

Our operators are involved in the entire process of the production. You will learn one area, and can then promote to operate other machines. On-the-job training is a good way to discover how to do the job better, so you should have willingness to learn and improve.

Requirements

Our Operators have a few things in common. They are very safety conscious and focus on the task at hand. They all work as a team to get the job done. And they know that a minor mistake creates a big issue for our customer and they will do everything they can do make sure that doesn't happen. They need to be able to do basic math, be able to show up on time and follow directions. A High School Diploma or equivalent; secondary or vocational training with prior experience a plus; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Ability to read, understand and follow written and verbal instructions. Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions. Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm. Acute attention to detail with a strong commitment to excellence and high standards. Training is required and per relevant category in Company and Departments Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, higher amounts with mechanical assistance. Use of lifting equipment and various types of fork trucks (training will be provided and required).
