POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Plant Superintendent, this position supports employees in Material Prep Department during their assigned shift and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: General

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

• Leads all Material Prep personnel during their shift.

• Leads all employees in the following areas: Machine Operators, Sorters, Laborers, Plant Forklift Operators, and Raw Material Operators.

• Responsible for producing to the schedule provided by the Plant Superintendent or Operations Manager.

• Responsible for minimizing down time in various areas of production.

• Ability to make quick production related decisions to optimized efficiencies.

• Responsible for controlling batching and color systems.

• Responsible for reporting breakdowns to Plant Superintendent and Maintenance Department.

• Responsible for training and/or cross-training employees within the plant.

• Keep work areas clean including bins, ramps and material areas.

• Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by the company and governmental regulatory agencies, ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.

• Predictable and Regular attendance is required.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• On-the-job training experience is required to be able to perform duties.

• Requires basic reading, writing and mathematical skills.

• Ability to operate front loader, forklift, extruder, batching and color system and any other equipment required to perform duties.

• Adequate experience operating material prep equipment

• Previous experience as a production operator.

• The ability to manage and motivate others effectively.

• Trouble shooting skills including machine electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and overall knowledge of the machinery involved in making landscaping and composite plastic products.

• Ability to multi-task and act as backup supervisor when needed.

• Predictable and Regular attendance is required.

• Standing, walking, sitting, talking and listening, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, reaching with hands and arms.

• Plant environment with loud noise, moving mechanical parts, work in high, precarious places, outdoor weather conditions, heat or cold (non-weather) conditions.

Salary Range $21 - $25 / hr.
