Machine Operator

The Machine Operator operates assigned stations and all other associated work including preventative maintenance, machine changeovers, making minor adjustments to maintain greatest operational efficiency, assist other mechanics, etc.

Shift And Schedule

The Machine Operator is located in our Northlake, IL facility and must be available to work on all shifts depending on business needs. Flexibility to work overtime, weekends and holidays as scheduled is required.

Position Responsibilities

  • Handle empty cases and solve other line issues.

  • Train other operators on use of machinery.

  • Perform best practice quality checks on line and equipment.

  • Set up machinery and ensure all production materials are available.

  • Operate and monitor equipment and replenish materials as needed.

  • Monitor line for defective materials and perform any other related work in accordance with line quality.

  • Record all data as required (i.e. charts, necessary process adjustments based on data findings, etc.).

  • Clean and sanitize all equipment and facility as required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)

  • 3 years prior experience with operation of high-speed production machinery and monitoring of product quality

  • Lift, push and pull a minimum of 50lbs repeatedly

Perform routine operational duties and general maintenance. * Achieve line standards, without sacrificing quality and/or safety. * Identify quarantine and correct film that is substandard. * Complete and maintain daily production/quality reports. * Print and accurately label rolls according to specifications (size, material type, gauge, shift and operator number) * Package finished laminate * Make bails and band material * Cut the cores according to length specifications. * Cut-off waste material, trim and finish/package laminate rolls in accordance with machine cycle and quality specifications. * Operate hoist and/or fork truck to load and unload rolls; Conduct hoist inspections each shift to ensure safe operation. * Complete hour-by-hour chart, Kaizen newspapers and other documentation in accordance to Lean principles. * Keep assigned area clean according to Lean principles. Requirements REQUIREMENTS: * High school diploma or general education degree (GED); * One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. * Preferred but not required experience with the operation of the Hays Laminator & Duesenberg Slitting equipment systems. * Preferred but not required experience with the operation of Mono and Co-extrusion blown film equipment. (Sano/Brampton Engineering/Alpine), and all secondary componentry. * Preferred but not required to have experience with mixing various film structures using Process Control Blending Systems (LLDPE, LDPE, HDPE, EVA, PA, Nylon, and EVOH film structures) Apply today for immediate consideration.
