Oil States is currently looking for qualified candidates for a Machine Operator III at our rubber making facility.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Prepares and operates machines to process/produce a high quality product.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepares mixing line for production by checking temperature and equipment for safety.

  • Makes certain all materials for production are available; restocks warehouse

  • Operates various rubber mixing or processing machinery

  • Inspects work

  • Repairs defective batches under direction of supervisor

  • Cleans equipment

  • Completes manufacturing paperwork

  • Assists with maintenance when necessary

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONISBILITIES

  • Loads and unloads rubber from skids

  • Assists in packaging for shipment

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experienced level position

  • Manufacturing experience necessary

  • Works under minimal supervision

  • Conversion of written and verbal communication skills

  • Problem solving skills

  • Basic mathematical skills (addition/subtraction, multiplication/division)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged standing

  • Lifting, pulling and carrying in excess of 75 pounds

Work involves coordinating and disseminating of information, developing filing systems, and coordinating internal administrative support work that directly impacts Regional Public Health and Emergency Preparedness activities. Completes reports, budget summaries, and other fiscal documents. Compiles, tracks, reconciles and prepares reports on budget operations for manager approval and submittal. Works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Provides clerical support to Community Preparedness Program. Member of the Incident Command Structure in response to public health emergencies. Must comply with HHS, DSHS, Texas Department of Public Safety applicable policies/procedures/standards. Essential Job Functions: Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned. (35%) Performs general office duties for the Community Preparedness Program (answer and direct phone calls, takes messages, disseminates needed policy/procedure or other information, open and process incoming mail, coordinate large mailings, participate in meetings and take meeting minutes, copy, maintain office supplies, etc.). Relieves switchboard operator as needed. Gathers and compiles materials for staff to take to off-site meetings. (30%) Assists in the development of admin or technical assistance policies and procedures for administrative staff. Maintains files/records, record keeping and record management systems for the Community Preparedness Program that are in compliance with state and federal guidelines. Assists in the coordination and organization of recruitment, interview and hiring process for Community Preparedness Team. Coordinates space management and individual requests. (30%) Prepares and monitors purchasing requisition requests, enters request into system, manage inquires, receive items, and complete claims form for the Community Preparedness Program. Prepares grant revisions to include budget adjustments and other program related functions including deliverables, timelines, capital expenditures and purchase order requests. Compiles and edits data for charts, graphs, and databases from CAPPS Financial, and prepares summaries or reports to use for senior management decision making. Compiles travel requests from employees and prepares summaries and reports for Community Preparedness Program Manager approval. Monitors (maintain)electronic travel vouchers for program travelers; verifies travel funding codes and availability of funds. (5%) Other Duties as assigned include, but not limited to: being required to work other than normal business hours in order to respond to public health emergencies; actively participate and/or serve in a supporting role to meet the agency's obligations for disaster response/recovery/Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation- requires completed of at least ICS 100,200, 300, 400, 700 and 800 and may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location. Maintain compliance with DSHS Policy, Fleet Operations and Management & Procedures and Standards, and a current valid Texas Driver's License. Compliance with DSHS Immunization Policy required: serologic evidence of immunity to, or documented evidence of vaccination against measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chickenpox), Tdap, and annual vaccination against influenza (and hepatitis B if applicable).
