  • Receive, comprehend and follow traveler instructions, procedures, drawings and/or verbal instructions.

  • Set-up and operate manufacturing equipment in a manner which meets quality and productivity standards.

  • Recognize variations from proper equipment/machine performance and seek corrective assistance when other than normal adjustments are required.

  • Assist supervision, engineers and other employees in developing new methods and techniques to improve process and quality of products.

  • Maintain accurate records and logs as required.

  • Perform routine maintenance of equipment, including preventative maintenance and maintaining cleanliness of equipment and work area.

  • Assist in the training of other employees.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Must be able to work rotating shifts, weekends and overtime.


  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 3 or more years production and maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Knowledge of various tools and equipment including but not limited to: manufacturing process equipment, personal protective equipment (e.g. safety shoes, eye protection, protective aprons, respirators, gloves, etc.), measurement tools (e.g. micrometers, weigh scales, etc.), hand tools (e.g. wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers, etc.) and test equipment (e.g. eddy current, volt meters, etc.)

  • Knowledge of various materials used including but not limited to: various grades of titanium and other specialty alloys, drawing compounds and lubricants, solvents and process chemicals.

  • Ability to set-up and operate applicable machines, tools and equipment

  • Ability to operate plant mobile equipment and overhead cranes

  • Ability to read and interpret traveler instructions, procedures and drawings

  • Ability to measure dimensional tolerances using applicable equipment

  • Ability to read precision instruments

  • Ability to see and feel product defects

  • Ability to maintain hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate machines, tools and equipment

  • Ability to lift and move 50 pounds

  • Ability to move and reach around equipment in order to perform job duties

  • Ability to travel throughout the plant to perform job duties

  • Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend the English language

  • Ability to hear changes in frequency of machinery to ensure proper operation and safety

  • Ability to maintain mental concentration for entire shift to perform job duties

  • Ability to work in adverse conditions/environments (e.g. outdoors, loud noise, extreme heat, near chemicals, etc.)

  • Ability to perform work in accordance with established safety procedures and standard operating procedures

Today, we are proud to offer a contract Manufacturing Machine Operator position for a top pharmaceutical company in Fort Washington, PA. \n \n Job Title: Manufacturing Machine Operator \n \n Location: Fort Washington, PA 19034 \n \n Pay Rate: $19.71/hour (any shift) \n \n Shift: \n \n \n\t * 1st shift: 645am-3:15pm \n\t * 2nd shift: 2:55pm - 11:20pm \n\t * 3rd shift: 10:55pm - 7:20am \n\t \n\t\t * hiring preferences is to those open to any shift \n\t\t * training will be on 1st shift \n\t\t * weekends and overtime may be required during high production times \n\t\t * candidates should be flexible with availability as they may be asked to switch to a new shift during their 1-2 year contract \n\t\t * The shifts are not rotating, you will be on a fixed shift unless production needs change. A 30-day advance notice will be given if any shift needs to change based on production needs. \n\t\t * If you have shift preferences note this may limit your chance in becoming a full time employee - will discuss further \n\t \n\t \n \n \n Length of Assignment: 2 years with the potential to be hired permanently based on work performance, attendance, and shift availability. \n \n Position Summary: Under moderate supervision, perform all responsibilities necessary to operate, troubleshoot, set up, and adjust equipment and execute the manufacturing processes. Perform a variety of tasks including but not limited to process execution and monitoring to assure product quality and manufacturing throughput. Perform routine cleaning, and housekeeping with adherence to all safety, environmental and quality policies and procedures. This role will also move material and product to and from work centers within the manufacturing site. \n \n Job Description: \n \n \n\t * Perform a combination of manual tasks including but not limited to feeding, dispensing, charging, mixing, sorting, inspecting, assembling, and picking. \n\t * Execute the manufacturing and packaging operation with an adequate supply of components using mechanical apparatus, automated equipment and manual processes. \n\t * Accurately complete paperwork and electronic transactions for all documentation requirements including but not limited to SAP transactions, batch record steps and paper and electronic logbooks. \n\t * Perform the final checks and verifications for operations as indicated in the batch records and SOPs \n\t * Order and receive material and perform the required identification and use ( i.e. RFI system and basic SAP) \n\t * Operate forklift, manual and motorized pallet jacks. Maintain proper inventory levels of clean tools including ancillary equipment, pallets and containers. \n\t * Manage the removal of waste and execute equipment cleaning and housekeeping operations in accordance to policies and procedures. \n\t * Partner with supervision to ensure daily requirements are met. \n\t * Provide communication for product quality impact in case of deviations and provide the proper escalation to direct supervisor. Manufacturing first line operation SME in deviation events and product quality assessments. \n\t * Able to read and apply instruction from paper or electronic batch record. Using basic knowledge of mathematics and simple chemistry, measure or weigh required quantities of raw materials. This may include the calculation to adjust dispensed quantity based on material potency as per batch record and SOP directives. Accurately document quantities dispensed and charged. \n\t * Coordinate with engineering and management to validate new equipment, tooling, system controls, and validate new product codes. \n\t * Support numerous production line activities such as line tests, qualifications, validation, and improvements. \n\t * Drive OEE including the identification of opportunities to improve production and efficiency in a compliant safe manner. \n\t * Complete other ad-hoc tasks as required. \n\t * Load, operate and unload the automated washers as per procedures. \n\t * Disassemble/assemble equipment to facilitate cleaning. Perform manual cleaning of ancillary equipment, room/suite, bulk truck sampling device, packaging line, and transfer equipment. Utilize control system to clean major equipment (CIP/COP). \n\t * Complete visual verification of cleaning and document these steps in the appropriate system. \n\t * Perform general housekeeping activities at the expected level to comply with cGMP and EHS requirements. Perform periodic cleaning to maintain room/zone requirement as per applicable procedures. \n\t * Document cleaning as required in the appropriate system. \n\t * Checks, samples, test material and in process product controls using basic knowledge of chemistry, mathematics and makes adjustments according to the validation parameters for the specific product and process. Provide first line of assessment for product quality impact in case of deviation and provide the proper escalation to direct supervisor. Primary Manufacturing first line operation SME in deviation event and product quality assessment \n\t * Report deviations and escalate to supervision. Support deviation and non-conformance investigations. \n\t * Perform required check/sampling and testing as per batch record and SOP directives \n\t * Utilize MS office and other systems to improve business effectiveness \n\t * Working knowledge of ERP and MES systems. \n\t * Escalate document errors to supervision for correction or update. \n\t * Perform/assist in the completion, review and documentation of the manufacturing and processes steps as per the batch record and SOP directives. Always follow GMP documentation requirements. \n\t * Document all activities GMP requirements. \n \n \n \n \n Qualifications: \n \n \n\t * Education: High school diploma/secondary education or equivalent and/or associates degree or Bachelor's degree. \n\t * Experience: MUST HAVE minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or Bachelor's degree,; Pharmaceutical/GMP experience HIGHLY preferred. \n\t * Physical Demands: Candidates must be able to meet the physical demand of that this position requires: continuous lifting and/or moving from 5 to 25lbs. weight material, and frequent lifting or moving average (25-50 lbs) weight material. \n\t * Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must have a proven ability to interact with other operators, management, and groups inside and outside of Manufacturing.
