Must be able to use logical thought processes to solve production and quality issues as they arise.

  • Must be capable of documenting and completing all paper work required within the extrusion department legibly and accurately.

  • Must be computer literate or have the ability to be trained to reach proficiency levels needed to look up job set-ups, die and mandrel set-ups, blend sheets etc.

  • Be quality conscious, production oriented and able to work safely and effectively within established policies and practices.AMETEK Westchester Plastics is seeking a machine operator to join our team. This position is essential to maintaining smooth production operations. This role will oversee production equipment with essential duties including start up and operation of machinery. Ensure all machinery is running efficiently and producing a quality product.

  • Perform Various duties to safely and efficiently operate machines

  • Work from written and verbal instructions to manufacture final product per customers specifications

  • Maintain quality standards

  • Check and record production records

  • Assist with other work as needed, tear downs, changeovers and cleaning of machine, equipment and work area

  • Assist in maintaining a safe work environment

  • Perform duties in compliance with company policies and procedures.

Title: Machine Operator B Job summary: Operates fabricating machines, such as cutoff saws, shears, rolls, brakes, presses, forming machines, and punch machines that cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures. Responsibilities: * Sets stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template. * Positions work piece against stops, manually or using hoist, or aligns layout marks with die or blade. * Pushes button or depresses pedal to activate machine. * Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction * Measures work piece dimensions, using rule, template, or other measuring instruments to determine accuracy of machine operation. * Removes burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from work piece, using file, hand grinder, or wire brush. * Performs minor machine maintenance, such as oiling machines, dies, or work pieces. * May tend machines that fabricate and assemble sheet metal products. * Performs other work as assigned. Requirements (education, experience, travel, physical, work environment): * High School diploma or equivalent * Must be able to speak, read and understand English. * Should have good communication skills * Must be able to climb, twist, bend and stoop. * Must have use of hands and be able to work over-head. * Must be able to stand, squat, and grasp. * Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds. * Required to stand for continuous periods of time.
