Machine Operator - 3Rd Shift

The 3rd shift Machine Operator will be responsible for performing various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on assigned machines. The Machine Operator will also be responsible for inspecting parts to specifications and making adjustments/changes as necessary to maintain quality specifications. Machine operators will learn to operate multiple machines across multiple departments to support production when needed. Hours are Sunday - Wednesday 7:30pm to 6:00am. $2/hr. premium for 3rd shifts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment.

• Strong manufacturing experience a must.

• Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment.

• Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops.

• Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials.

• Housekeeping and sanitation

• Must be able to cross train as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred. 1 to 2 years of related experience and/or training.

• Must have mechanical aptitude and demonstrate abilities. Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

• Strong Manufacturing experience a must.

• Experience within the food and beverage industry preferred.

• Must be able to stand, walk, push or pull for virtually the entire shift. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally including overhead.

• Must be able to work in a wet environment. Some exposure to cleaning chemicals.

• Must be willing to work a minimum of 10 hours.

• Must be willing to be flexible when including overtime and attendance coverage.

• Be able to effectively work in a team environment.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
