The Thermal/Acoustical

  • Metals segment offers a full line of innovative engineered products to assist in noise and heat abatement within the transportation sector. Thermal/Acoustical Metals segment products are stamped metal composite constructions which provide thermal and acoustical shielding solutions for the global automotive and truck markets. Lydall's fluxTM product family of thermal solutions includes k fluxTM dual-wall/fiber shields, which are mounted to high temperature surfaces in exhaust or engine systems, and durable, acoustically-transparent zeta fluxTM shields for high-vibration applications. The Metals business segment employs approximately ~700 employees and with operations in the U.S., Germany, France, and China.

Job Summary:

Responsible for safe and effective operation of equipment and tools and for practicing safe working habits at all times. Coordinates Line Operator assignments within the work cell to meet customer quality requirements per control plans/standard operating procedures, customer deliveries, quality, production rates and 6S standards. Keep line Hour by Hour boards, downtime issues and other data current, and assist with die sets.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Verify all safety devices are operating correctly at start of each shift using safety check off list.

  • Report all safety concerns to Team Leader / Shift Manger / MaintenanceVerify equipment control settings are in compliance with Control Plan prior to line operation.

  • Comply with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Control Plans and work instructions. Ensures that Line Operators are also operating within compliance.

  • Under the direction of the Team Leader, lead and direct members of the production line.

  • Responsible for the operation of equipment and production of product as follows:

  • Part number and quantity of product to meet schedule requirements provided by Team Leader.

  • The product meets the design and quality specifications.

  • The product is packed and labeled in accordance with the Control Plan.

  • Equipment is operated and maintained in accordance to SOP / Control Plan.

  • Ensure Line Hour-By-Hour production board data is always current..

  • Ensure line is staged with proper materials prior to die sets and assist die setters as needed.

  • Troubleshoot problems that may impact productivity, scrap or product quality. Immediately inform Team Leader of actions taken or risk of below target performance.

  • Develop and maintain open lines of communication with the rest of the line so that off-target performance is immediately recognized and addressed.

  • Properly dispose of all scrap and waste material.

  • Be the Champion of 6S to ensure work cell and surrounding areas are clean and well organized at all times.

  • Assist with training of Line Operators.

  • Cross train on other production lines to maximize operating flexibility.

  • Perform basic Oracle transactions - - accountable for accurate reporting of materials used, scrap and good piece counts.

  • Must adhere to all company and location policies and safety rules

  • Must be able to work extended hours when required

  • All other duties as assigned

Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities Required for Consideration as a Candidate:

  • High school, GED or equivalent experience.

  • Must be able to read and understand English.

  • Must possess good math skills.

  • Knowledge of Oracle and QI Analyst preferred.

Lydall generates in excess of $600 million of revenue throughout the globe. Hours / Work Schedule: 7AM - 7PM. Will work three 12/hour days one week, then will work four 12/hour days then next week. Will have every other weekend scheduled off. Job Summary: Continuous manufacturing production & inspection on production line. Primary responsibility will be operation of production line machinery. Meet production rates & improvement targets. Duties and Responsibilities: * Ability to make proper machine settings based on product specifications for set-ups and production run * Read & follow manufacturing orders, control plans, SOP's, safety requirements * Inspection of product going into and out of process * Support and maintain the world class manufacturing system (including 6S, Kaizan, waste, safety, SMED, Kanban, and mistake-proofing) Other: * Must adhere to all company and location policies and safety rules * Must be able to work extended hours when required * All other duties as assigned Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities Required for Consideration as a Candidate: (If a degree is required it must be from an accredited institution) * High school graduate or GED required * Possess good communication skills * Must be able to use measurement devices * Must be able to read and write * Must possess good math skills * Must pass pre-employment drug screen & background and reference checks Additional Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities Preferred: (If a degree is required it must be from an accredited institution) Competencies: * Customer Focus * Drive for Results * Creative Program Solving * Interpersonal Relationships Lydall Corporation Hamptonville NC
