Your responsibilities

You'll be responsible for:

  • Operate cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.

  • Pull, inspect and verify product before processing

  • Properly and safely set up equipment to run material to set up note specifications.

  • Process set up notes according to work order specifications

  • Verify that product meets set up note specifications per written work instructions and record measurements (sampling plan)

  • Communicate with appropriate sales representative regarding changes/clarification to orders

  • Perform equipment preventive maintenance

  • Properly enter/delete material identification tags per written instructions

  • Perform general clean-up

  • Assist in the packaging of material per written work instructions and work order

  • Maintain issued measurement equipment in working condition

  • Properly operate weighing scale and record inspection measurements

  • Identify, record, and segregate scrap and any non-conforming material

  • Provide feedback to supervision regarding machine efficiency and product quality.

  • Complete job responsibilities in a manner that does not put him/herself or other individuals in an unsafe situation.

  • Train others when required

  • Assist in any activities related to lean and/or quality

Your profile

To be considered for this Job, you MUST have:

  • An individual must possess a high school diploma/ GED

  • Ability to read and write

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40lbs

  • Perform basic math skills

We HIGHLY prefer candidates who have:

  • Previous warehouse experience - especially in the metals industry

  • Previous forklift experience

  • Use of hand held measuring tools

  • Computer literate.

VIEW JOBS 11/8/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-02-06T00:00 Orion Industries, a Boeing supplier and award-winning aerospace manufacturer, is seeking a production employee with Inventory Control and/or Shear experience to join the Sheet Metal team on weekend shift (Friday through Sunday, 5:00am to 5:30pm). In addition to playing a critical role in getting airplanes in the sky, this position will play a part in supporting Orions mission of providing training opportunities to people that need help. If you have a desire to make a positive impact in the lives of people in your community by sharing your knowledge with others, this might be the perfect opportunity for you! The ideal Sheet Metal Technician candidate will have: * 2+ years of experience in a production/manufacturing environment * 2+ years of inventory control and/or shipping & receiving experience * experience using a variety of measuring equipment (e.g., tape measure, caliper, micrometer) * experience reading blueprints/drawings * sit down and stand up fork lift experience * strong alpha-numeric data entry skills * shop math skills and strong computer skills * a desire to share knowledge with others This is a full time position working Friday through Sunday, 5:00am to 5:30pm (3 x 12s with a weekend shift bonus).
