Job Description:
The Machine Learning Software Engineer in the LSU Office of Academic Affairs/College of Engineer
Design, develop, deployment, and maintenance of full-stack software applications utilizing Large Language Models (LLMs). Develop custom LLM chains and pipelines, fine-tune pretrained LLM models, and benchmark models to optimize performance on custom datasets. 60%
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify application requirements, define project scope, and deliver and report on solutions. Communicate results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 20%
Stay current with the latest advancement in LLMs and other facets of deep learning and natural language processing to drive innovation. 10%
Additional duties as assigned. 10%
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 1 year of related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or related technical field with 0-2 years of related experience.
Demonstrated university or internship experience in the integration of Large Language Models (LLMs) into software applications, prompt engineering, model fine-tuning, and LLM chain development.
Excellent and demonstrated oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Demonstrated university or internship project experience in full stack application development.
Demonstrated university education in the integration of Large Language Models (LLMs) into software applications, prompt engineering, model fine-tuning, and LLM chain development.
Core knowledge of Python and Javascript programming
Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
