We are looking to grow our career driven team and are currently seeking Machine Cleaner to work from our Wilkes Barre, PA facility. The primary responsibility of this position requires the individual responsible to use a vacuum, compressed air, high pressure rinse, cleaning chemicals, hand cleaning, squeegees, and motorized sweepers to maintain all equipment as well as office areas, locker rooms, and break rooms. Mild to moderate chemicals and spray cleaners are used on a daily basis. Air blast packing machines, conveyors and floors. Using a cloth, wipe down equipment.

The ideal candidate for this position must have general knowledge of procedures for cleaning food handling equipment. The physical ability to lift up to 70 lbs. is required in this role. As the Machine Cleaner, this individual will be working with very expensive equipment, requiring them to work with care and diligence. Attentiveness and attention to detail is essential. In this position, the candidate will be exposed to wet slippery floors, requiring the ware of non-slip shoes. Use of mild to moderately hazardous cleaning chemicals will be present in this position, requiring the use of appropriate personal protective equipment. The willingness and ability to work Monday Friday from 2:30 PM 11:00 PM.

Machine Cleaner:

  • Participates in all sanitation activities in order to maintain, clean, and safeguard equipment and facilities used for the processing and packaging of food products.

  • Uses vacuums, compressed air, high pressure rinse, cleaning chemicals, hand cleaning, squeegees, and motorized sweepers to maintain all equipment as well as office areas, locker rooms, and break rooms.

  • Returns all tables, mats, hoses, and cleaning equipment to proper position.

  • Must be trained on Global Harmonized System for different chemicals used during daily cleaning.

  • Cleans all packaging/ processing equipment and machines.

  • Removes all waste to proper hopper.

  • Requires working cooperatively and proactively in a cross-functional team with a diverse group of people and Supervisors.

  • Readily takes instruction from the Supervisor and Leadperson and is eager to improve work activities and knowledge base.

  • Responsible for quality and food safety tasks for their position.

  • This position has direct impact on food safety at Utz Quality Foods. The next most senior members of the department is trained and qualified to substitute for absences and vacations. Where similar positions are staffed at multiple local facilities, trained personnel may be temporarily transferred to a different site to cover absences.
