Requirements:

  • Must be able to read and understand all the documentation required to perform assigned tasks (Work Order and the Operator Responsibility Sheet)
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Should be able to speak, understand and read English
  • Good communication skills
  • Positive attitude and show initiative
  • Entry level measuring skills

Responsibilities:

  • Handling of product produced from a machine
  • This could include trimming or clipping product
  • Packaging, weighing, and labeling product
  • Inspection of all product produced at the machine
  • At time measuring parts with gauge pins to ensure that they are acceptable to the customer’s print
  • Maintaining a clean, neat, and organized work station
  • Communicating any quality issues to the Shift Supervisor

NOTE: The work schedule/shift for this position is Sunday-Thursday from 11:00pm to 7:00am We are looking for dependable individuals who are quality conscience and wants to excel at his/her job. JOB SUMMARY: Our Machine (Tower) Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient operation of a 3 tier-vertical coating oven (Tower) to produce numerous types of coated fabric/ film material of various sizes. Performs and operates job functions with safety, quality and efficiency in mind and in accordance with specific process sheets and operational parameters. The Operator has overall responsibility for the quality of the product they are producing and must have excellent attention to detail with regard to the materials visual aspects as well as weight and thickness specifications. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Demonstrate safety awareness and safe work practices: Safe, efficient operation of 3-tier vertical coating oven (Tower) to include: * Tower start-up, shut down and turnarounds * Read and follow process sheet, work instructions, quality documents (PQD) and/or procedures to coat rolled fabric/film material * Use various tools to move fabric/film material to/from tower * Verify selected material roll to be coated and formulation are correct per the work instruction * Install material on appropriate shaft, and place on the pay-off, inflate shaft and splice material to the leader * Check materials and/or coating formulation using various calibrated and non-calibrated tools * Complete visual inspections on material as it is processed through tower to monitor for defects * Complete process map, recognize, categorize, document and correct various defect and processing problems * Notify lead of defects * Determine through process decision making whether to continue running/operations or to stop the run * Complete visual inspections on material as it is processed through tower run/operations * Notify lead of defects * Determine through process decision making whether to continue running/operations or to stop the run * Complete visual inspections on material as it is processed through tower run/operations * Cut samples for Q.C. * Input shop floor control data into computer systems (QAD/GEORGE) * Willing to accept and receive frequent direction and assistance from various levels of management * Prepare machine & production supplies for next shift, ensuring smooth hand-off following shift * Participate in WCM and safety activities Periodic Maintenance of equipment: * Perform safe, efficient periodic autonomous maintenance on tower, to include: cleaning pans, rollers, cleaning ovens and smoke box - requires use of dust mask, Tyvek suits and entry into confined space * Maintain 5S housekeeping/organization within work area REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS * Excellent attendance and attention to detail * Basic reading, comprehension, math, troubleshooting and computer skills * Ability to read a tape measure within 1/16 of an inch * Ability to stand frequently during shift, climb stairs/ladder, perform some work overhead and lift up to 50 lbs * Ability to work overtime as needed * Prefer - 1 + years experience working in an ISO manufacturing environment * Prefer - 1 + years machine operator experience * Ability to follow company policies and procedures, treat others with dignity and respect, and open-minded * Willing and able to cross-train in other areas according to business needs * Strong sense of accountability, integrity, teamwork, pride and a sense of ownership in your work * Self-motivated, results-driven, active participant in change and process improvement Work Environment: * Production environment with regular exposure to noise and dust * May be exposed to cold temperatures and/or heat at times Physical Requirements: * Must be able to climb a ladder, be comfortable at heights, operate equipment that is in constant motion, use of both hands at working height and periodic use above head * Ability to lift/move a minimum of 50 pounds repeatedly * Ability to work in confined spaces as needed Benefits: * Shift premium of 10% * Annual Bonus Program (up to 10% on qualified earnings) * Pension Plan (Company contributed, employee vesting after 3 years) * Medical/Vision/Dental/Life/AD&D/STD/LTD (no waiting period) * Tuition Reimbursement * Vacation and Sick/Personal * 401k * Paid Parental Leave RELOCATION: Not Authorized SPONSORSHIP: Not Authorized Who are we ?
