Overview:

Become a full-time Field Sales Representative!

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Pay: $32/hr + Monthly Incentive Opportunity

Bilingual: English/Spanish

What are my responsibilities?

  • Train, advocate, and promote our client's building materials brand at retailers in assigned territory

  • Travel within a territory to visit multiple stores daily

  • Drive sales and product awareness through training

  • Manage a territory of stores independently with minimal oversight

  • Showcase your building materials know-how and communication skills

  • Develop professional relationships with store management and associates

  • Schedule and facilitate sales and product training with store associates and managers

  • Effectively assess and communicate on-site needs such as marketing material, promotional collateral, etc.

  • Educate customers and Pro Desk associates while making specific product recommendations that apply to their projects

  • Accurately document and report sales, schedules, activities, and best practices

  • Collect customer feedback and provide insight and recommendations

  • Set and maintain brand merchandising in retail locations and ensure all brand standards are followed

How is Success Measured In this role?

  • Meet established metrics

  • Visit multiple store locations daily

  • Schedule store visits two weeks in advance

  • Execute sales activities inside each location during all visits

  • Ability to establish, maintain, and influence business relationships

  • Record and maintain appropriate documentation for each visit

  • Strong analytical skills and customer service orientation

  • Strong multi-tasking skills, time management, and attention to detail

  • Must have and maintain reliable transportation and state-required minimum liability automobile insurance coverage

  • Weekend availability

  • 1 year retail experience. Home improvement is a plus

  • 1 year of training experience is a plus

  • Manager, assistant manager, and key holder experience a plus

  • Reliable transportation, valid drivers license, and auto insurance

Job Description:

  • Drive brand market share through daily direct and indirect sales activities, engaging directly with customers and retail channel partners

  • Develop a partnership with retail store management to foster sales-driving activities with associates

  • Schedule and facilitate sales and product training with front-line store associates and managers

  • Drive sales productivity through high-quality sales interactions with customers

  • Build and maintain industry vertical affiliate distribution relationships

  • Effectively assess and communicate on-site needs such as marketing material, promotional collateral, etc.

  • Educate customers while making product recommendations

  • Meet or exceed personal sales productivity goals and key metrics on a monthly and quarterly basis

  • Accurately document and report sales, schedules, activities, and best practices

  • Collect customer feedback and provide sales/marketing channel insight and recommendations

  • Set and maintain brand merchandising in retail locations and ensure all brand standards are followed

Performance Measurements:

  • Meet or exceed monthly sales goals

  • Meet or exceed weekly in-store time goals

  • Visit multiple store locations on a daily and weekly basis

  • Effectively schedule store visits two weeks or more in advance

  • Effectively execute sales activities inside each location during all visits

  • Effectively demonstrate an ongoing ability to establish, maintain, and influence business relationships through increased shelf space, product placement, and consistent productivity

  • Record and maintain appropriate documentation for each visit

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required

  • 12+ months of previous retail selling experience in building materials or related experience

  • 12+ months of successful training experience, preferably within direct marketing/retail sales

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to stage a consultative selling process that overcomes objections and connects with customer needs

  • Strong analytical skills and customer service orientation

  • Strong multi-tasking skills, time management, and attention to detail

  • Ability to perform independently in an unstructured work environment

  • Must have and maintain reliable transportation and state-required minimum liability automobile insurance coverage
