Vocational Specialist - PACT

Mental Health Services

Eliot is seeking a dedicated Vocational Specialisit for the Program for Assertive Community Treatment (PACT) team in Lynn. PACT is an evidenced based multidisciplinary outreachmental program that serves adults with serious and persistent mental illnesses in the community.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that consumers are treated with dignity and respect in accordance with ECHS' Human Rights policy.

  • Empower consumers to exercise control over their lives, including daily routines within their home, their treatment and leisure activities.

  • Assist consumers in being fully integrated in their communities by supporting them in the use of community resources, encouraging them in establishing memberships within theircommunities, and reducing stigma within the community through education.

  • Ensure consumers are free from neglect and abuse. Report all concerns/ suspicions of abuse/ neglect to supervisor and the Disabled Persons Protection Commission.

  • Actively take part in supervision, staff meetings, in-services and trainings as required or determined by supervisor.

  • Provide and maintain therapeutic boundaries and a professional relationship with consumers.

  • Exercise sound judgment by providing appropriate distance and support that promotes a trusting relationship and places the well being of the consumer first.

  • Deliver and monitor consumer medications in accordance with Agency, DMH and DPH regulations, policies and procedures. Ensure the maintenance and accuracy of all documentationand administration.

  • Transport consumers to work sites, meetings, daily activities, appointments, and activities as needed. Follow all motor vehicle rules and regulations when driving consumers.

  • Maintain a positive professional working relationship with consumers, co-workers and interested parties, at all times.

  • Ensure the safety of consumers; implementing crisis intervention as necessary.

  • Participate in Daily Organizational Meeting (DOM) in accordance with Eliot policies and PACT standards.

  • Document daily progress notes for all contacts with each consumer in accordance with Eliot Policy and PACT fidelity standards.

  • Perform shift management as assigned by the Team Leader in accordance with Eliot policies and PACT standards.

  • Providing job coaching to indiviudals employed competitively in the community.

  • Accompany individuals to the workplace, observe their performance, and offer assistance and support as needed.

  • Interface with the client's supervisors to ensure that the individual is completing the designated tasks as assigned.

Pay: $49,177

Schedule: M-F 9am-5pm

Requirements

Master's degree in rehabilitation counseling or psychiatric rehabilitation, or at least a master's degree in mental health counseling, social work, psychology, education and 2 years of experience working with people with disabilities in a vocational rehabilitationsetting. Strong clinical skills with at least 1 year of experience working with people with severe and persistent mental illnesses. Experience with job development, job coaching, skills assessment, and developing relationships with employers. Knowledge regardingstate and federal benefits, employment supports and educational supports.
