Position Overview

Analysts at Harris Williams play an integral role in all of the firm's merger and acquisition advisory activities. Analysts are expected to be active contributors during every phase of the deal process and are encouraged to handle a high level of responsibility on transaction teams. As a Summer Analyst, you will work on live deals and contribute to the following:

Major Deal Process Deliverable Creation:

  • Pitch Materials

  • Valuation Analysis

  • Confidential Information Memorandum

  • Management Presentation

Client Involvement:

  • Actively participating in deal team, pitch, and due diligence meetings as well as management presentations

  • Representing HW throughout the entire deal process

  • Organizing and participating in meetings and calls

  • Conducting marketing calls

Job Description

Harris Williams dedicates a great deal of effort to hire individuals who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement excellence both inside and outside of the classroom. Eligible candidates should be working towards a Bachelor's degree from a four-year institution, and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher as a prerequisite. No specific academic major is required; however, basic knowledge of finance and accounting is desired.

Taking Ownership Knowledge of the current situation or issue at hand, and the ability to take full personal responsibility or ownership for assignments, activities, decisions and results.

Teamwork Understanding of the necessity and value of teamwork; ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Work Experience

Roles at this level are filled by recent university / college graduates with little or no professional experience, but possessing relevant skills. Includes individuals joining the organization through a Corporate development/ training program. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.

This position is a Co-Op and will take place during the 2020 Spring semester, and has potential to continue into the Summer. The successful candidate will be expected to work full-time as a substitute of going to school during this semester. Summary Through practical field experience and mentoring, successful candidates will gain significant technical experience working as a nuclear engineer. Work with the Engineering staff to complete tasks including: * Performing calculations for reactor core follow * Developing and/or Enhancing Programs (lay out) * Neutronic/Nuclear Design Calculations * Assist senior engineers with core design calculations Minimum Requirements * Must be enrolled in an ABET accredited Nuclear Engineering program or have an ABET accredited degree and enrolled in a Master's in Engineering (one of which must be Nuclear Engineering) * Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite * Ability to communicate effectively; both written and verbally * Must be self- motivated and have the ability to work well with others * Must be interested in a hands-on work approach If selected, must have reliable transportation to travel to downtown Minneapolis site locations.
